Mmmm.. I'm in the 3rd largest city in IL, and there's nothing here, so the idiot kids who watch too many movies and read too many books start at the local hot topic to be:
-emos
-goths
-sceners
-"vampires"
-screamo wanna-bes
-brootals
-halloweencores
-those that get the occasional black metal knight supplies

then as they dedicate themselves to such stupid philosophies that were developed by a marketing company or some bisexual female author that makes their 'evil characters belonging to the devil' more feminine looking than the newest cast of Final Fantasy, the fans go online and spend small fortunes to look absolutely rediculous.. like the people that spend hundreds of bucks for perscription steampunk goggles
Mind explaining what a Brootal and a Halloweencore is? Just wondering

Anyway I never have seen any 'vamp kids' over in Holland so there might be hope :p

Brootal: Kids influenced by hardcore, screamo, deathcore, deathmetal, and grindcore music-indie bands are included.

halloweencore: new subgenre thats a fucked up hybrid of goth and dance as far as I'm aware, but its impossible to keep up on all this BS.

Anyway, every new little group that comes up to be 'non-conformist' usually ends up with some variation of the original goth look anyway... thats why its so funny to hear the goth kids complain because everyone looks the same (and why the goth kids got their own south park episode)

lol i watched that ep last night as well :L, around glasgow ul see sum1 from every single type of group/fad u can think of, the goth/emo(i know theirs a big distinction but im being lazy the now) will usually either hang around glas central in a large number but fairly small groups, which annoys me to know end for sum reason or go to the cathouse, tho that was awhil ago when i went sumtimes, dont know if its changed much. but luckily iv never properly seen any vamp kids, saw a few girls who looked like they could fit that role tho :S

granted my mind was swept clean of all these thoughts as i passed 3 of the most gorgeous women i have ever seen, i heart glasgow :D for all the wonderful sites you can see :D

So last night I watched an episode of south park with Twilight inspired Vampire kids. Now I'm not making an attack on Twilight but do kids in America really do this cause there are none in Ireland.
There's a lot in Ireland, just not where you are obviously! I see them lurking around my town centre and Dublin all the time.

I think there is a vampire subculture, but it isn't very widely spread in America. I think the southpark episode was just mocking subcultures for being "different" in the exact same way.
No it isn't, as the Vamp kids in the episode are a fad, while goth kids are always gothi kids through out several seasons. It was just ripping on emos and they fucking deserve it.
I think you've mistaken this episode with the one where Stan gets dumped and joins the goth's.
The vamp kids episode is mainly about goth's getting pissed that there lifestyle is being taken over by the popular masses.
Nope. I'm not mistaken, I watched every SP episode more than 5 times so I can tell which is which. I wqas talking about the episode where everyone acts like a vamp and butters spies on them at first and then joins them, too. Tomatoe had mistaken the eps.

tt: I have a whole fucking alley near my city centre filled with emos. Like a fucking nest, I had to go that way one time to get home and I saw like 50 emos. 50! Dude I think I should move to Russia with my parents, emos are illegal there.

Do you have something against emo's? I've never had any damn problem with 'em, hell one of my
best friends is a emo.

Hey Nurb, do you mind me asking what part of IL...just wondering cause I live in Northern Illinois and all I've ever seen is emos, goths, and "vampires"...they run rampant in my school.

There's actually a rather large subculture of the vampire in most places around the world. I would have joined it myself but I was just that little bit too concerned about public opinion and now I'm older I can't be arsed with it any more, although if I ever won the lottery I'm pretty sure I'd be back in there heh.

Most "living vampires" do seem to be from the goth or emo scenes but I have seen them from others.

I personally listen to goth music but don't limit myself to it so I don't really consider myself one. I even sometimes wear colours other than black! Dun Dun DUnnnn. ;)

The day I see vampire kids is the day that Twilight will have completely and irreversibly corrupted innocent children with its colossally idiotic stories and characters.

Not that it hasn't already corrupted kids, mind you.

I knew a kid back in high school who was all I'm a vampire, but I suspect it was just a phase. We've got goths, and they're generally pretty rare, but outright Nosferatu wannabes are rarer still.

I don't get that kind of subcultures. Why try and prove you're different by forming groups with other people that look like you?

I have not actually seen any vampire kids, although there is a large group of wannabe emos at my school. Its funny because I remember a time when they were normal and their leader had an obession with ponies.
