This is something that I have never been able to fully understand.

Why would George Lucas, after campaigning so diligently against the colourisation of classic black and white films, then return to alter his own classic films to the anger of so many of his fans? Please, I've never been able to work that out.

Haha, somewhat misleading title there...

Anyway, what do you mean, "return to alter his own classic films"? Are you talking about the special effects bump up, or the new trilogy?

I think it's about the fact the Star Wars movies are getting redone in 3D. Though I haven't heard about a new trilogy. Is it confirmed?

because colorization was not done by the original artists, thus did not depict their artistic vision. He changes his movies to fit his artistic vision...as is his right to do so as an artist

anti special edition people need to take the stick out of their ass

(though admittedly, the special effects for the special edition better get redone for the 3D release)

Actually, I was referring to the 1-3 films, because I was so confused. :S

Basically, he's doing it for the money; same as why he refused to give Return of the Jedi a decent ending, and same as why he's been milking the universe he's created for all that it's worth.

I think I did hear something about him wanting to do another three films though. I *really* hope that that falls through.

Fair enough, I guess I just don't consider the first three movies to be new anymore. I usually just refer to them as the prequels.
