Finished both on Veteran the only two missions I died more than once on were the final two World at war levels.
If that's the case how come you only unlocked the "Throw a Six and a Half" trophy AFTER you finished the campaign? Surely if you finished all but the last 2 levels without dying more than once you would have unlocked it after the first few levels?
More than once, meaning I died on the last two levels more than once.

Edit: I forgot I linked my PSN here.
So you died exactly once for all the levels? Huh.. can you explain how Purple Heart (die 5 times at one checkpoint) is your 5th unlocked trophy in WaW then?
Borrowed game from a friend and tried to counter a banzai attack but thought it was like dogs were you had to press at the exact time they stab you.
lol, now this is just getting amusing. I suppose that once you figured out the proper timing, you were able to do everything else in the game with no effort at all. Congrats on making up a story to impress the internet.

Not trying to be a jackass. I don't understand this thread. Are you all very young? Recent games with health regen and checkpoints are some of the easiest games to rage through. I consider myself an average-good shot and I only play SP games on the hardest difficulties because even then I blow through them quickly. I'm honestly not trying to be an a-hole. I'm curious. I'm baffled.

You guys want to try a hard game, download Sin Episidoe 1 from steam. That game was awesomely hard on max difficulty (although it was kind of a crappy game). Low on health and ammo most of the game. Taking about having to make your shots count.

Yeah I beat cod4 and the MHC level on vet.
I started 5 on hardened, did ok until that freaking final stairs to get into the nazi stronghold building (the end of the 2nd to last level)
I beat mile high club after minimum 1.5 hours straight playing. The escape sequence on vet didn't destroy me like I thought it would, and I only got stuck for 30 min on no fighting in the war room.

Have you actually played cod4 mile high club? Or are you talking from internet excperience? Regen health means nothing if by waiting for even 1 second total to do ANYTHING you run out of time.

It isn't too hard, play it enough and with a bit of luck you'll succeed. The fact that seemingly infinite enemies spawn from a closet is annoying and the grenade spam was a pain.

Its really not that hard if you have the patience to wait up at times and try again, i finished CoD 2/4/5 on veteran, didn't occur to me to try veteran back when i was playing CoD 1, but it was hard and fun, especially the Russian missions in CoD 2
Patience isn't the word for it lol. Thanks to everyone for all the help so far, all 3 pages of it. :)

I must of tried every level on both games on veteran a good 20-30 times and there are still a fair few on each game that i can't get the achievement for. I do get bored with continuously losing easily but these games are close to impossible.
Let me know which missions in COD4 you're having trouble with.

I finally beat the entire game on Veteran recently and it was one of the best feelings I've ever had as a gamer getting the Mile High Club Acheivement.

Beating that plane level is like learning a ballet dance, every move you make for the entire minute has to be perfectly timed and learned through trial and error. One mistake and you're fucked.

You have to get lucky with the AI too because your teammates are retarded and will block your route/not kill anything.

Oh, and FLASHBANGS!

I found No Fighting in the War Room to be the worst. Took me days.
No fighting in the War Room is what kept me down. All it was, was lack of checkpoints. I'd fight through one hallway, only to discover another one, and no checkpoint.

You think that Call of Duty was hard on veteran? You've got a little thing called regenerating health, buddy. Call of Duty 1 with no regenerating health on veteran. You wouldn't last.

Those aren't nearly as hard as Gears of War 2 on Insane. It took me so long to beat. I had to play it on co-op because on single player it was like 4 shots and you're instantly dead and there are enemies constantly surrounding you.

Yeah the problem with that level is that the checkpoint will only 'check' if you reach it in a certain time limit.

The reason though is because if you don't reach it within that limit you're pretty screwed anyway, as the big doors take an age to open.

In a way, it's the game being cruel to be kind...

Though any game with a timer is never kind.

It would be better if they didn't have a shitload of scripted enemy placements and infinite respawns.

I beat Gears 2 solo on insane and found it easier than COD4 Veteran.

There were some horrific difficulty spikes though: the tank level, waiting for Jack to open Maria's cage, defending the Satt Comm from the reavers with the (quite frankly broken) turret while Dom scratches his ass beside you.

I can do all the veteran ones on COD 4 except for Mile High Club and No Fighting In The War Room.
