Video burner

Hi folks thought you would be the best people to ask (note i don't really know anything about video files and shizz) i'm looking to burn a video onto dvd, I've tried using windows dvd maker but i get no sound (if anyone knows how to fix this problem that would be great) can anyone suggest a decent burner? ( note i am not going to illegally download it)

So that it will play on a standard DVD player?

Usually with free software, it will be necessary to convert the video to a usable format first, then use other software to burn. videohelp.com [http://www.videohelp.com/guides] has tons of guides.
