Okay so here is the problem, popped in the new Overlord II into my computer and ran it on high graphics. No lag just beautiful seamless graphics. Although my computer was running very loud I ignored it and had a blast. Thinking I should maybe check the temperature on my 8800 GT I was astounded and shocked to see it at 94 Degrees Celsius, and I do not know for how long. Should I be concerned that my card might be seriously damaged? I hear the max temperature is 100, and the Auto shutdown well....didn't work so I am really troubled that my card might well be... warped or damaged?

While 94 is rather hot, it is not enough to permanently damage your card in such a short time period. 100C is typically when cards throttle their speeds back to reduce heat, and shutdowns don't occur until even warmer than that.

Your card is fine, but if you try to play Overlord II again, you will surely run into the same heat problems. Try turning the fan speed up manually and/or reducing any overclocks with RivaTuner (google for it) before you start gaming next. I know, it'll be noisier, but it's better than running your card at high temperatures for extended periods of time. Try to get the temperatures down to 85C for constant operation.

I had my fan running at 100% >.< but I had graphics quality max and 1920x1200 so it well was beautiful but way way way to hot. I have never seen my card so hot. Thanks though for the help (I do not over clock my stuff, seeing as I don't have the knowledge to want to.) My computer is already VERY loud so a little more noise is fine.

I do spray out the dust out of the card every couple months so well, it could have just built up on me a little faster then normal but... I will give it a try anyways. Thanks for the reminder!
