I have a big backlog of great games that I really should get around to playing (mostly JRPGs). The problem is I'm damn addicted to Call of Duty. I had MW3 but found the only way I could stop myself from playing it was to sell it... so I did. Sadly, I have Black Ops on demand. I've deleted it numerous times only to succumb to reinstalling it. Is there a way to remove the option of re-downloading it (without paying for it again)?

Sure, I enjoy the game but I know its time to move on. It sort of just zone out and mindlessly play for hours on end. Most other games require a bit more effort and focus to play for long periods of time.

Maybe a lack of willpower and self control but sometimes the only way to stop an addiction is to throw away the needles.

Well no matter how you slice it lack of self control is the main problem, I strongly advise you to master self discipline to some degree because it is an extremely important skill thru-out your life.

Compulsion is what marketing trickery always plays on, if you can't shake it then you are in for a rough life.

Thanks. What you said made good sense. I've thought about the task to reward thing. I think in the case of Call of Duty it is more or less instant gratification. I can turn the game on and play for 10 minutes or 10 hours and each kill or minor victory is the reward.

I think if I delved into a lengthy RPG it would take more commitment and patience. But, the satisfaction of completing a lengthy game would be much better than a bunch of small victories. Call of Duty is a one night stand. Dark Souls is a committed relationship.

I know there's some games in my collection that I probably won't enjoy, but I know there are going to be some gems in there as well.
