Good morning all. At least thats what time it here. I have come to you with a serious issue, for once. All weekend long I played Modern Warfare 2. I took breaks for life though, although it was tough. I've had the game since release and just started playing multiplayer and now am addicted to becoming a level 70. However, none of this info is really important though.

All weekend, at night when I closed my eyes I would see the game. Its as if it had burned into my mind, kind of like how old TVs could have images burned in them. I realized that this has been a problem in the past when I play games for too long over a short period of time. Its so bad that in my dreams I would see a crosshair turn to an x when I looked at someone.

So my question is: Has this ever happened to you? Do you think this is a problem? Is this normal? Is this what I get for playing MW2 instead of something better?

When you're dreaming, your brain is sorting through your memories, mostly recent.

I remember reading an article somewhere that people who watched TV back in the day before technicolor now dream in black and white.

You should take a break from it, that's the only thing i can suggest. I have weird dreams about games sometimes, but never had interface elements stuck to my real-life vision.

Strangely this happened to me with minesweeper. I found myself imagining number/mine combinations at odd moments.

Same thing happen to me too.

Because of Double XP weekend, I've been playing MW2 non stop. And when I do take breaks from it I play some TF2 (360 version).

So the past couple of nights I'd dream a MW2 match with the TF2 characters. And it was awesome!

I've solved game-related puzzles in my sleep. No joke. And I've definitely had dreams involving Doom, among other things. Can't be helped. The mind plays around with everything it saw while you're asleep.

Your suggestion is a good one and that is what I plan to do. Its hard though becuase I'm the kind of person who gets into a game and then only wants to play that game until its complete. But I have to give myself a break, for my own sanity

Also, I fell better knowing that this happens to many other people, and not just me. As the day has gone on, since starting this thread, I am thinking about the game less and less.

After getting the bladder of steel award in rock band, my friends and I noticed that the bookshelves were moving, which was a result of seeing the note track in our vision.
