video game characters that watched you grow up

Kyle Katarn, Samus Aran and Mario. Those are the iconic ones. Later, it was Gordon Freeman, I was 14 when I got half-life 1.

Not a gamecharacter, but Sid Meier is also a gaming hero of mine. I played Civ2 almost daily for five- six years from that I bought it in 96. I was 12 at the time

Crash Bandicoot and all his little animal sidekicks. Oddish for that little onion thing was in every single Pokemon game i ever bought and i had to kill like 200 of them. Mario and his Mushroom pals, Link and Navi, Star Fox and Banjo and Kazooie.
