While pondering my potential reply to a friend's Tweet just now, I had the bizarre thought of playing Pokemon and Medieval II: Total War to distract me from things like cleaning my flat (which I'm too lazy to do and keep putting off. Well, the washing up, at least...). And then thought I'd reply again saying "not at the same time, obviously".

Anyway, that got me thinking, weirdly enough, about a mash-up between Pokemon and Total War. Imaging Nintendo and The Creative Assembly teamed up to make a Pokemon: Total War game. You could train an aerial assault unit of Spearow and Taillow to scout out Goldenrod City, and besiege it with your Pikachu death-squads, or lead an assault to capture every province of Sinnoh, and so on... I would play the hell out of that game, it would just be so awesome.

So, what do you reckon to that idea, and what video game mash-ups would you love to see and play? The weirder the better :D.

Basically, except that it would be some 30000 player in orbit around and on the planet surface. Online of course.

And I want to be airlifted into combat directly from the ongoing space battle =P

Saints Row 2 and Command and Conquer 3, with The Saints as a faction of gangsters in purple with heavy focus on infantry with automatic weapons, excessive use of explosives and re-purposed military helicopters.

Your character can run out and capture a building garrisoned with troops by his/her self.
There are many opposing factions, some minor, some major. The major ones are mostly international crime organisations and the military.

Two concepts come to mind:

- TimeSplitters and Far Cry. Just imagine the mapmaker on that thing!

- Mortal Kombat and Legend of Legaia. If you've ever played Legend of Legaia (or Legaia 2), you know why this combination could prove be very interesting.

You are an absolute genius. That sounds like the most perfect game to ever exist in any of our lifetimes.

Skydiving with a grappling hook and a fire axe/sledgehammer combo piling driving right into a crowded street of zombies in a massive explosion of dust, blood, pavement, and awesome?!?

Just imagine that.
