Video game/ nerd music

I was just listening to some "the adventures of", and I was wondering if anyone on the escapist listens to any bands that do covers of video game music. I know nerd-core, like mcfrontsalot, are pretty popular, but since this is a video game site i thought it would be interesting to see if anyone listens to video game specific music.

I've recently taken a liking to the likes of Criss Cords [http://www.myspace.com/crisschords], who makes songs either based off video games or uses various melodies from games for his songs (such as Sonic Boom [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAR9KELt4x4] and Turbo Chemistry [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrQb67pqa4U]) Awesome stuff, I'm telling you, especially the song about cheat codes.

Other than that, I'm like most video game nerds and I may come across a soundtrack that strikes my fancy; I'd love something more hip-hop based though, like Street Fighter 3: Third Strike or something (though it was largely Drum & Bass).

For a lot of nerdcore on one site check out scrubclubrecords.com they have a lot of free music and stuff from nerdcore artists.

Personally I like a lot of stuff in the genre, I saw someone mention YTCracker who is excellent, I like Kabuto the Python quite a bit and a bunch of other people...I can't say I'm a big fan of different artists because most of the songs I like are from albums with Various Artists so I only hear one or two from different groups like ZOMBIES! ORGANIZE!!...


Anyway, longwinded response aside, if you wanna find good nerdcore music, just google it and start clicking.

L80ETC, at least I think that's who they are now, or to put it properly Level 80 Elite Tauren Chieftain, all songs about World of Warcraft.

As an aside, does anyone else know the name of the band who did songs about Warhammer 40k? I think one of the songs was called 'Stealers Kiss. They were supposedly really bad according to the guy I know who had the cassette tape (yeah, it was that long ago) and whilst referance to them and the songs appear online, the actual music seems impossible to find -.-
