Not only props, but plots, backgrounds, and even that well known scream.

Sure, sequels will probably have a lot of their assets recycled from the previous game, but what about completely different games.
I'll give an example;
That Gun [http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/That_Gun] from Fallout New Vegas makes the exact same sound when reloading as Sam Fisher's Night Goggles did in the first Splinter Cell.
