Im sure I speak for a lot of people here when I say games can be frustrating. People yell at thier TVs. Turn the game off and sometimes a bad gaming session can just ruin your day.

Personally... My competitive nature does not allow me to simply stop playing so when I eventually do I feel like shit.

Does anybody else have any views on games causing rage?
What have you done yourselves after being enraged by a game?
I once shattered a controller into several pieces....

I have some anger problems and some competitive issues, so when a game isn't going my way that day, I just quit when I start to feel the anger rise. It's important not to fuel it, as getting angry only makes it easier to get angry in the future (because it feels GOOD) which, given how I respond to it (once punched a wall so hard it broke my watch) is not what I want to do under any circumstance.

I can usually control myself when a game's pissing me off.

Usually. But when it decides to start being a cheating bastard I tend to lose it.

I rage on Teamspeak too often, but I tend to go back to getting owned and take it like a man.

When I was young, difficult games used to make me really angry.

Not anymore, though. Now, I see it as a welcome challenge.

I used to get worked up from games, although now I hardly play FPS's for more than an hour a week let alone competitively, so I don't take them seriously. I just play for fun, I'm actually (not trying to sound like a dick) good at FPS's, so I enjoy running around on (for example) COD and racking up crazy killstreaks, but even if I have a bad game and die 30 times in a row, I wouldn't care. I won't rage quit, I'll just think "well, this is boring" and stop playing. They just don't affect me any more. I used to hate getting killed, I honestly couldn't give a fuck how I die now, or who killed me, or whether he was using "scrub tactics". It's just a fucking game.

What is fun though is killing people who do take the game crazy seriously, and then hearing them rage like fuck in the pre-game lobby about how I was using a scrubby class. Ah, fun stuff. They're so easy to troll too, just "u mad" and they respond with a barrage of racism and ignorance.

I bet an analog stick in half once.

Stupid assholes were cheating! I swear!

When I was little I used to say that about Jak and Daxter 2 and 3 all the time. It was those fucking racing missions, those were the fucking worst...

Currently, I'm attempting to install Baldur's gate on my PC. This bullshit is causing me to rage big time.

It doesn't make me angry, it makes me thing how to get around the challange and puts my mind to work.

But on MW2, I get overly pissed off sometimes and leave..

I used to get seriously angry, but now I just stop and drop it if the game is not immensely fun and I get a little stuck. Call me lazy but I couldn't be bothered these days...

All my frustration comes from Street Fighter 4 and Sheva in RE5.

Other than that I don't get mad at games, it just makes you play worse

If I ever get annoyed, or start finding it chore like, then I just stop and play an either non-competetive game, or something like AOE.

So I don't really get angry.

If I was annoyed before playing a game, and the game I played immediately started to annoy me, then I'd just turn it off. Usually, it takes an extremely frustrating moment for me to rage-quit a game that I'm enjoying.

I often silently swear whenever I die in an FPS now.
Also. today I am dissapoint because of nostalgia. Most games released today aren't that innovative, and I've never been able to have a favourite game. But today I spent an hour searching for my gamecube memory cards just to play Viewtiful Joe, a game with good ideas. Sadly, I got to Gran Bruce on the easiest difficulty and can't get passed. The gameplay is ok, but could be more fun. I just wish older games weren't harder. It's moments like these that make me question how much I really enjoy gaming.

My solo legendary run through on Halo: Reach made me rage continuously. I eventually succeeded, but the damage was done, and now I view every other difficulty as too easy (who knew that elites could be reliably killed with melee attacks... lol).

Red Dead Redemption and the people who can snipe you in the head from accross the map always angered me. I don't mind that they're able to do it (they're skilled, why should I begrudge them because of that), but that fact that most of them camp the spawn points, and just repeatedly kill you before you can even move.

That's about it, seeing as all other cases are very old, and not very significant.

It depends on whether it's a difficult game or if the game is just outright cheating.

Difficult - Lucifer on Infernal (Dante's Inferno)
Cheating - Kratos Clones on God Mode (God of War)

Lucifer's attacks have a pattern and with carefuly planning and strategy, both forms are a piece of cake when mastered.

Kratos Clones do stupid amounts of damage, break your combos very easily and don't recoil or break their attacks easily. The easiest ways to beat it are cheap attack/magic spamming and Rage.

Lucifer does not make me rage. Kratos Clones made me rage so hard I tore out both analog sticks on my very first PS2 remote. Some games are just frustrating and some are cheap, either way if there's a trophy I need... I'll probably suffer it... -_-

Believe it or not thats what actually made me make this topic. Bout half way through the campaign I had raged so much I just said to myself... "no... more" the gamerscore is simply not worth it!
