I was watching Fox yesterday and I saw something on video games and how they corrupted our children again.
I you know what I just realized every time something does happen the person had pre-existing problems.
Maybe they should notice or even mention this. Maybe they're ignoring because its video games. Books, TV, religion have all done the same thing. They've been around longer. Their have been more incidents and have been way worse then anything videogame related. They've caused fucking wars but its okay cause its a book or religion. That's total bullshit! They can never stop it. Theirs so many people in the world that people who have pre-existing problems are going to find it. I'm just tired of video games being picked on.
I'm just getting really tired of this.

No offense, but we get it. Videogames are called evil and curropt, and people are saying that they are curropting the children and making them murdering assholes. I read the whole transcript of the california case and I've seen SOOOOOOO many threads on this. No offense, but another is justy hurting my eyes

It's been proven that these games don't do this, but humanity will always find a scape goat. Best to just let it roll off your shoulders dude, horror films and porn got this treatment before us. Let's saddle up, sit through it, and then nod because we know we're right

Well most forms of entertainment have been criticized for their violence. Even film, music and books have gone through their fair share (that's fun to say fast) of public scrutiny for the "violent" or "brainwashing" messages they send to our children. But eventually people get over it and learn to accept it as art.
Although it is understandable to get upset if a game is violent just for the sake of violence.
I think it's a phase that people will grow out of. Fox is just gonna make that difficult for us.

I remember an episode of the X-files where Mulder says that the surveys that find violent games affecting the general populace suggest that people are just empty vessels waiting to be filled.

I find the actual crimes committed by those who are apparently influenced by video games are very rare and no more frequent than some whack "re-enacting" movie scenes because the plum can't differentiate between reality and fiction.

People always need a scapegoat but they soon shut up if they are confronted with those who question their resolve and mindset i.e actual basis on the psychological impact of games on the general populace...which last time I checked was just people being entertained and nothing really deeper than that

It's the same thing that happened to comic books a few decades ago.

Hopefully, we'll come out unscathed. Today I took my English exam. For my film essay, it had a list of acceptable things it can be done on (it was a visual essay, film being the most common). Listed on there was 'electronic interactive experience'. I highly doubt any class in the country will do an essay on a game, but it's a start. I nearly cried with joy when I saw it.
