Hello there Escapists! There's a neat little game a friend of mine came up with, so I thought 'Hey why not to try it in here!'
Anyway, the premise of this game is... a little strange.
If you're still not sure how it should look like, here's an example:
Sounds fun? Then post here if you want to participate. This is an interest check thread, but I'll be looking for min. 4 players to get things rolling, and max. 10 players to avoid chaos in the thread.
Cheers!
Anyway, the premise of this game is... a little strange.
The basic idea is that the players will take it in turns to pick a video games characters to form a cast. Once every player has a decent sized cast, they will then have to produce a basic outline of a storyline involving their characters. Whichever story is adjudged to be the best will be declared the winner.
The judging will be based on a number of criteria: how well the characters fit together (as in, it will be difficult to get a serious character and an off the wall daft character to chime well), the quality of the storyline (original stuff is cool!) and how the characters themselves work with the story (again, a daft, humerous character might not fit into a dead serious scenario too well).
Each round of picks will be themed so as to limit which characters are available to be drafted. For example, I may decide that in a particular round, you may only pick characters who appear in in a certain theme game (like a space game).

Let's say we have four players (let's name them A, B, C and D). At the beginning of each draft round I'll announce a theme, and use random.org to determine draft order. So we have a situation like this:
Theme: Space hero!
Pick a character, who is no stranger to fighting in space (either on a spaceship or on different planets)
Order:
C
A
D
B
Player C picks Master Chief from Halo series
Player A picks Commander Shepard (either male or female) from Mass Effect series
Player D picks Isaac Clarke from Dead Space
Player B picks Sam Gideon from Vanquish.
After that, I'll announce new theme, new random order, and the cycle will repeat, until each player will have 5 or 6 characters. So at the end of the day, let's say Player A have the following cast:
Commander Shepard (male) [Mass Effect]
Carter Blake [Heavy Rain]
Yuna [Final Fantasy X]
Ratchet [Ratchet & Clank series]
Sonic the Hedgehog [Sonic series]
Vladimir Makarov [Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2]
And now it's up to him to make a storyline involving all those characters. It can be about everything, happening everywhere, and be either as serious or as goofy as possible as long it's consistent.
