Let's do something that's a little fun. Self Imposed Challenges are a good way to make a game much harder, so here's what I suggest. Everyone Leave a difficult challenge here for someone else to give it a shot. Hell you can even give said challenge a try yourself if you want, and then come back if you manage to defeat the challenge.

My challenge? Beat Dark Souls without using ANY summons. That includes summoning NPCs. I've beaten the game but I can remember beating quite a few of the bosses only with the help of summons Capra Demon, Moonlight Butterfly, the Four Kings, Smough and Orenstein (Especially the last two). I'll probably try this myself when I get the chance.

Well I think that this thread is pretty self explanatory. Issue a challenge or take a challenge that you particularly like and give it a shot. Let's have some fun.

I think I only summoned 2 NPCs on my first playthrough. This challenge doesn't seem spectacularly challenging.

That said, challenges that don't increase difficulty as much as they just cause frustration through repition ("Only use the pistol all game!") are no fun at all.

The best kind of challenge are those in a very open and organic game, like original X-Com, Dwarf Fortress, Minecraft, or even The Sims at a pinch. You have room to evolve a new inventive strategy to overcome the limitations you set yourself.

I have a Dwarf Fortress save on a 'Terrifying' class Glacier, where my Dwarves alternate between fighting off undead polar bears and dying of cold and starvation.

I call it 'The Knights Watch'.

Just speaking from experience, I needed two other players to beat Smough and Ornstien

I respectfully disagree.

I'm thinking about trying to finish XCOM:EU using only conventional weapons. I'm not sure about restricting armour at the moment, I don't even want to think about how hard limiting my firepower will be let alone sending my guys out in the worst possible protective gear available.

I've done Classic Ironman so I know what to expect, but I still don't rate my chances with what I'm planning here even on Normal Ironman.

Yeah, I think i was pretty darn overlevelled for that fight or something cause I got both of them first time.

Quelaag, however was a different story. She must have killed me a dozen times, but revisiting her on later playthroughs she was a lot easier. I guess I was underlevelled.

Its surprising how 5-10 soul levels can make such a difference to your survivability.

On topic: Playing with daggers/rapiers, parrying shield/parrying dagger and never surpassing 25% equip, it's very difficult to pull off, but has the potential for big riposte damage. Heavy focus on dodging attacks rather than letting guys bounce off your shield.
Overall it's a lame build for single player vs engine, but evading sword swings with a ninja flip and parrying an attack into a counter-stab through the torso feels awesome.

Ok, this is gonna be impossible but bare with me.

Play an extended session, say 3/4/5 hours of League of Legends solo queue and don't get mad at anything. Go ahead, i'll wait.

URMAGURD HOW DID U MISS THAT Q LEE SIN?! NAMI YOU FUCKING SUCK WHERE WAS THE STUN?! AHHHH FUCK! *keyboard slam* MID WHERE THE FUCK WAS THE SS?! GAH WHY IS THIS TALON SO OP?! I COULDN'T EVEN DIVE HIM UNDER HIS TOWER OR ANYTHING!

LAGGGGGGGGGGG!

Average LoL player right there guys. Funny thing is i'm not even exaggerating...

Oh and play FTL without upgrading shields or getting cloaking. GG you have made it impossible to win. Unless there's some super ship I haven't unlocked yet. Not that shocking really considering I only have the default (read: best) ship and the one you get for getting halfway.

That isn't so hard . Summons aren't necessary at all . I actually did that on my second playthrough . On my first i only summoned sunbro for the gorgoyles .

OT: This is one ive done on my first playthrough . Play/complete Final fantasy 13 without upgrading ANYTHING. I didn't know how upgrading works , so i didn't use it all.

Well I'm currently running through Kingdom Hearts Final Mix on Final Mix Proud mode, along with doing it 100% and translating the game...I was very stupid when starting it! >.<
