Why does he blink so often? And how am I supposed to take a squeaky-voiced squirrel seriously?
OT: This argument has been made so many other times. 'It' makes good points, but they aren't original points.

I'm sure he's making a good point but christ I can't listen to that voice for more than 10 seconds

Yeah, the voice is way too much.
I'll listen to Foamy when it's stuff that's kind of important like gay marriage or whatever, but when it's just more bitching about E3 I'm gonna ask for a TL;DR or equivalent.

Given this is on the Gaming Discussion forum of a website dedicated to video games, this is perhaps the least informative thread title I have ever seen.

What was the point in bringing religious groups into the discussion? That's adding fuel to a fire that's not even burning. Sure if a religious group is the one making such a claim towards you then you can respond like that (and I mean respond directly to them, not in an open letter addressing every enemy of gaming together), but otherwise it's just saying "violence in games is ok, because religion sucks". I'm an atheist for the record.

Also, saying "you're closed minded, so your opinion doesn't count"... is closed minded.

That is exactly what I thought when I first saw Extra Credits. Kidding, maybe.

It's supposed to be a sign of a good animator when the characters blink, the thought behind it is that blinking is such a small thing, a lot of animators just plain forget to include it. I don't think this is the case though, since that is a S***ton of blinking... maybe it's supposed to make him look hyper?

I'm studying animation, and we're told not have blink a certain number of frames between each other depending on the frame-rate.
And perhaps. I could see a squirrel being hyper.

I'm not sure I follow you

Do you mean *first blink*, certain number of frames *second blink*

or do you mean *begin first blink*, certain number of frames *end first blink*

that was probably vague to... what I mean is, are you taught to have that certain number of frames between when a characters blinks and when that character blinks again, or do you mean a certain number of frames per the whole act of blinking once?

Cause the act of blinking is supposed to be pretty darn fast, if there are to many in-betweens and the blinking goes to slow, it can make the character look sickly.

Also, if you wait too long for a character to blink again, it can make them look robotic, a good rule of thumb is to mirror how often you yourself blinked when playing back that animation.

No, no, the blinking itself takes about 2-4 frames, we've just told we have to have a certain number of frames in the gap. Obviously you don't make it exactly that number each time, but there's a minimum.

I concur 110% of everything you have said, I was thinking just the same!

Wow, that guy from Extra Credits really got addicted to that hellium... and even more annoying.

Sorry, I couldn't get past the 1:30 mark, just too hard to listen to.
