Video: Three Gaming Heroes Learn Not To Steal Mario's Powerups

In this fan video, Master Chief, Lara Croft, and Assassin Connor learn not to mess with Mario, the master of powerups.

Sometimes, videogame fans produce things of beauty and magnificence. The following video, which features Mario putting a stop to a heist on his powerups by Halo's Master Chief, Assassin's Creed's Connor, and Tomb Raider's Lara Croft, is one of those things.

The video, made by the folks over at Corridor Digital [http://www.youtube.com/user/CorridorDigital?feature=watch], has some pretty high production values, and is suitably entertaining. It starts with Master Chief and Connor taking out some hapless Toads, as Lara Croft comes in to secure the "emergency powerups."

But Mario isn't going to take that sitting down, and uses his winged cap to chase the theives down. Master Chief then eats a mega mushroom, and Connor a fire flower. All in vain, of course, as Mario isn't stupid enough to let his own powerups be used against him.

If the video piqued your interest, be sure to check out the Kristopher Fisher [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xmdUp3dsQk], and you can check out each of the four main actor's Twitter profiles here:

Suitably impressive, especially the fire effects...scratch that, all of the effects are amazing (so sparkly), save for the whole turtle shell bit but that's acceptable.

Also, does anyone else think that the piranha plant in the background at 2:11 is the same one that..."makes a grand appearance"? (Must. Avoid. Giving. Spoilers!)

They should've known better. Video game heroes are like barbarians - the old ones got to be that old by being REALLY GOOD at it.

If it was the same one, well, we saw it coming, if it wasn't, well at least it didn't make it seem like a total cop out as to why that event happened.

Man, this reminds me of There Will Be Brawl. Anyone else remember There Will Be Brawl? In any case, it's always nice to see this kinda stuff floating around the internet.

Ah CorridorDigital, they are like the new FreddieW to me (no offence to FreddieW but I'm just less invested in FreddieW videos these days).

That was quite an entertaining video. Loved the jumping effect (and all the other ones as well).

I approve.

And yeah, it kinda reminded me of Let there be Brawl... but no where near as grim.
