Well, I just watched a video someone made briefly analysing the covers of the book Lolita throughout history, and it set me wondering...

Can anyone think of videogames with similarly interesting cover differences across releases and and countries? I understand games have different release habits to books, and hope we don't get too hung up on the good old 'American Kirby is Hardcore' issue, but.. well.

So again, any games come to mind whose covers show an interesting opinion of the game's audience, or response to the game's content, by the publisher?

.. Oh and the Lolita cover discussion video's here: http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/teamt/dw/skitches/27782-dw-lolita-covers

The Settlers.

From this.

To this.

At first we have a fun game with a cartoon style.

Now we have a slick marketing machine targeting on adolescents who are insecure about their masculinity and have too much pent up sexual frustration.

Look at the covets for Call of Duty Games.

COD 1 - 3:
WW2. Showing squads of soldiers fighting together (Much like the games).

COD 4 - 6:
Sillouette of one man, Pretentious as hell. (Once again much like the games. They seemed to forget that your meant to be equal in strength to your team-mates)
