I work at Toys R' Us in the RZone (aka the electronics department, I dont know why they call it that) and to be honest I find this kind of shocking and expected at the same time. We sold out of almost every single type of game that was even remotely popular multiple times, and were slammed with bussiness at all times. The new Donkey Kong game we actually sold out of 4 TIMES in a 10 day period (with over 250 copies shipped to us). I had days where we were using all 4 registers and had 2 people running the floor, and it still had more people in there than Black Friday.

However, Toys R Us does a terrible job replenishing games that are sold. 2 Weeks after Christmas, and I have yet to see a single copy of Call of Duty Black Ops, Halo Reach, Fallout New Vegas, New Super Mario Brothers, NBA 2k11 (or any sports game to be honest, although everyone in our area had that problem), or Epic Mickey come in that wasnt a return. We got to the point where we were relying on people to RETURN GAMES to replenish our stock. I realize this was how many stores were, but you obviously cannot sell games if you dont have them in in the first place.

Games weren't the only place we had problems with either, for some reason, we didnt get a single Playstation move or Xbox Controller after Black Friday (and still dont have any) At the same time, we just got a shipment of over 30 wii remotes last week, and recieved regular shipments every few days. I've heard rumors of shipping errors and shortages, but when I can walk to the Gamestop just a few stores up and find 15 new Xbox Controllers, I think something is up.

I dont know if my store is the exception, but if Toys R Us wants to sell more games, they need to put out the image that they actually have these games in the first place, otherwise they'll be lucky to sell any at all. We would have buy one get one 50% off every game in the store, and I would have gamers walk in surprised, who had no idea the sale was going on in the first place.

Toys R Us sometimes has GREAT deals though which makes this rather odd. I got Fallout New Vegas with a ten dollar gift card and the free strategy guide.

I'm also supposing maybe some of the bigger name titles such as Fallout New Vegas or Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood aren't for kids, having stuff in them equivalent to a Rated R or PG-13 movie. thus people may be less likely to buy those games there since it is a children's store. But in reality, should Toys r Us even be selling Mature games? (I guess I'm a bit of a hypocrite considering I bought Fallout New Vegas there) I mean, does Toys R us sell rated r movies? I doubt it? Should Toys R us sell anything that is clearly meant for people in the late teens or older?
Yes we have R rated movies as well, I've seen copies of Aliens vs. Predator on the shelves as well as other R rated movies, I just cant recall their names at the moment. We also have the Robot Chicken Humping Robot (in the toy aisle no less lol) Family guy toys, and that Easy A movie, which I'm really surprised that they would have in the store.

To be fair, we do have to ask for your age before you buy an M rated game, and I've told several little kids that unless they have a parent theres no way they're buying Black Ops or an R rated movie. We get a lot of parents that assume that any game in the store is good for kids since its toys R Us, and I've had to debunk that many times. You can imagine how happy some parents are when they realize they almost bought an M rated game for their 10 year old...

Oh yeah, and I'm a hypocrite of buying bad stuff there too lol, I recently bought Dead Space and Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butchers Bay, and am considering preordering Bulletstorm there, which are deffinitely NOT kids games

I find that really weird. I know for a fact all the games I got this year were bought from Toys R Us, and they had some CRAZY good deals (Gift cards, buy a game get it's guide free or something like that) in the last few weeks before Christmas, and they were open 24 hours for the last week before. Hell the only thing on my list I didn't get was my PS3 headset because they were out of the one I wanted. They had way better sales than anywhere else was pulling from what I understood.
