In every piece of media, there's a bad guy in some shape. In the really good ones, the bad guy is almost a good guy, except for one fatal flaw. That fatal flaw is what makes them a total bastard, and really prevents you from liking them.

Naturally, we all have our definitions of what we see as flaws, and so, I'd like to hear your favourite villains, and the one thing that made you hate them.
I'll start with a couple - The Lion King's Scar is charismatic, cunning and ambitious. A thoroughly likeable character, even if just for his voice actor. But the one inexcusable fault - he's a filthy coward. During 'Be Prepared', we get to see how determined and powerful Scar can be, but when confronted by Simba, he immediately throws his hyenas under the bus and begs for mercy, seizing the opportunity for a surprise attack when Simba's back is turned.

And, another, more recent one. (Batman: Arkham City minor spoilers)
The Joker. So he's a psychopath with a killer sense of humour. He's brilliant, he's ruthless, and he's more taxing on the brain cells than the Riddler. But my one problem with him? Sexually exploiting Harley. Not sure why I prioritise the exploitation of a crazy clown lady over the murder of a hundred innocents, but my brain works in funny ways. I won't say it 'ruined his character', because it's part of his character, and really, you can't just deny faults in a character because you don't like them. That's not how the world works.

Mine are Jack of Blades, Negaduck, the Overlord and Sauron.
I don't hate villains, I love them.
But then again, I'd side with the villains any day over the heroes.

To take the Lord of the Rings route, Saruman. He's wise and powerful, essentially with the knowledge of Gandalf, plus more power. He's got a very commanding presence, but his one drawback is his power lust. It made him fool himself into thinking Sauron wouldn't betray him when he was no longer useful, and that he himself could overthrow Sauron and not be taken over by the ring. He became twisted and cruel to the point where one of his own stabbed him in the back.

Hans Gruber from Die Hard, obviously.

An incredibly charismatic and likeable character, who just happens to be absolutely mental.

It helps that Alan Rickman didn't actually play him as a villain:

Oh, and more on the morally grey side, in Skyrim I opted to help the Stormcloaks achieve victory over the Empire, because I see the Thalmor as serious bad guys. After conquering Solitude, I spoke to the court wizard, and she said that the Stormcloaks didn't understand - they were destroying Tiber Septim's empire so they could worship Talos, and that the greatest way to pay respect to the Ninth Divine would be to help his empire fight back against the Aldmeri.

A quiet swear was uttered.

I was always a tad amused and/or peeved when he would often say stuff in German to his likewise German colleagues, only for them to not understand, whereupon he would repeat in English...

OT: Ummm... really not sure, Maleficent perhaps? You really have to wonder what kind of upbringing she had to become so misanthropic...

Not sure you got the point of the thread - Which villains would you have normally loved, had they not possessed that one thing that made them hateable?

That's the point of my answer.
I have yet to come accross a villain I hate.
The ones I encountered until now I either liked instantly or I started to like them after a while.

Well, I like Scar and Joker, but the whole reason I don't see them as admirable to the utmost is for the aforementioned reasons.
In a bad story, the villain is all-evil, with one redeemable quality. In the good stories, the villains are admirable, but with one flaw that makes the hero more relatable.
