hello escapist, I have decided to make a vindictus thread mainly because the other threads in the forum are boring, and I technically need to take a small break from the game, this counts as a break to me, considering i just spent the entire night playing the game this should be something of a break.

anyway, in case you dont know what vindictus is (and this forum weirdly enough doesn't seem to know this stuff) vindictus is a dungeon based 3d action mmo, sounds a bit generic i know but it really is true action, just like anything you would see in devil may cry, or monster hunter, but mostly devil may cry.

here is the trailer, I would have given you normal game play but I couldn't find anyone who is not a coward.

http://vindictus.nexoneu.com/NXEU.aspx

here is a link to nexons EU site, in case you're European, or from Israel, just use that link above.

http://vindictus.nexon.net/

if you're American use the link above.

also does the mods mind if i put a referral link here? i mean it kind of has a purpose here.

anyway, now is the time to get out there mercenaries and show the fomors who the goddess loves.

I've got an account and played it for a good bit.
Enjoyable enough so long as you don't play it too much for too long, but not really a game I'll dedicate myself to.

Fun enough, but lacks motivation to go on. Or something.

I had a few characters. It was ridiculously easy to just complete the first few quests, then use that money to buy quest components from the auction house...and quests always gave more money than the components cost. I went from like level 3 to 34 just by buying components.

I've got a Fiona and (like everyone else) a Vella on East server.
Fiona is my main, but Vella is much easier to use. She'll probably get nerfed, I would think, as she's pretty OP ATM.

Of course, what is the discussion in this thread?
vindictus in general of course, these kind of threads seemed to work great on 4chan /vg/ so i figured why not see how they go here? and no people really are generally civilised in these threads over there on /vg/, they are not just screaming at each other.

surprising really considering what people say about 4chan.

but if you really want to have a subject then you can always just talk about uruk i think his name was.

I only just recently found out that the region lock for Australia was lifted from this game, it's pretty awesome but I feel it falls flat next to GW2... I would have had a LOT of fun with this closer to when it came out though.
Played rather similarly to Dragons Nest in the sense that they were instanced true-action MMORPGs with 'actual characters' rather then 'make your own character'.
And for the classes I played at least (Tinkerer on DN, Evie on Vin) it was very dodge-based.

I played Evie cos I loved the idea of a properly done battle-mage (Scythes particularly, crossing melee attacks with spells and it looked like it was probably the best implementation of the idea in a good MMO) But I never reached the level for it before moving on after about 2 days...
Might give it a try again eventually.

When people say super-negative things about "4chan" they almost always just mean /b/.

Vindictus is one of my top 3 MMORPGs. If you live in the states you should definately play it.
right next to prius online and wow eh?

I am just kidding with you, but seriously did you ever go back to prius or did you abandon that game? just curious about the life of a fellow gaian really.

i've played it before. i love the combat. but i found it far far too grindy, and iirc it had those annoying casual game skinner box daily limit systems and i also vaguely remember something was forcing me to work with other people or lowbies or something. not too sure about that one. anyway, the whole package just made it all feel like work.

I've got 3Chars in that game

-Lv57 Sword Lan
-Lv69 Staff Evie (Main)
-Lv49 Scythe Evie

The thing is with the new Season 2, it's really REALLY "Pay-2-Win
Since most parties will kick you off the boat if you have less than 14-16K Atk and semi-good DEF

I'm not going to explain how hard it is to get that much attack, since only someone who played for a long time would understand. Just that, the average player that plays for fun will never get beyond 13K and hence won't advance unless they play constantly with friends.

Still it's a great game, taking a break at the moment but I'll play again in a few months after some lv70 weapons are on sale.

If you had paid attention to my Online legacy you'd have known that I compaigned to shutdown prius and managed to bring down the game.
Double edge sword really because as much as the game sucked. They did everything about the Lon Femina aspect part of the game right. which blows.
But I'm trying to find private server files to bring back the game on my own hands, Not for everyone else on earthy but so i can play the lon femina again.

It's going to be a little pet project.

My top 3 MMORPGS are
World of WarCraft(i really liked cataclysm)
Guild Wars 2
Vindictus

If anyone could help me with prius online private server stuff id' be very happy, seeing as how the game is no longer inlicence and the IP is no longer in service in the region.
yeah sorry for not paying attention but i really did not like prius so i couldn't be bothered to follow it, i will always remember how you were before the north American launch though.

but wow you actually got the game down? that is quite impressive of you, and sorry to hear about that whole lon femina thing, but couldn't you just play on the korean servers instead? or did they shut down those too?

honestly that might have something to do with the fact that this game is a prequel to mabinogi, which had a merchant class, maybe they were trying to make mabinogi 2 with a class like that and then said "wait a minute, mabinogi sucks" and then went on to make this instead.

or they're just incompetent, its probably that.

A what? Wow. Must've been even longer than I thought since I played. I had a sword Lann back at launch when there were only three characters/classes, but it's been a while since I even checked what was going on with the game. It still has the best combat of any online game I've played, MMO or otherwise, but it started feeling too grindy and like there wasn't enough interesting to do after a while for me to stick around. Didn't help that my friend I played with left before I did...
