Slap your friend around the back of the head to knock some of the sense back into him. Phone the police. Teach this kid that it's not okay to hit anyone with a crowbar. To bad for your friend but what has that to do with video games? And I don't think violence it itself is bad, sure it's sad when it happens to a innocent person but I think violence would be good against those who are assholes like the 17 year old.

I'm missing the part where the dude stuck around waiting for floating piles of money to come out of your friend's body, or the part when he tried to spawn a helicopter with his cellphone...
He didn't beat up the other guy because of GTA. He did it because he has no education and is a complete fucking retard.
If he reported it to the police, this is assault with a deadly weapon, and the other ****'s going to jail.

For quite a long time... I don't recommend beating the fellow into a coma though. That would make him just as bad as the psychopath. Get the police involved, have the fellow arrested. GTA doesnt make you bat in heads of innocents. It might give you the means to do so, but its always ultimatley up to you. Real life provides alot more ways to severely injure people so bringing up GTA just cuz yer friend got beaten to a pulp by some retard-fuckwad is just silly.
