Which, in your opinion, one had the most world altering affect in history? This doesn't mean that music has to be violent or vice-versa if you prefer to look at it that way.

ooookay? put more detail in your post mate, I can barely understand your topic. Also, put your own opinion in!

I'd say music. While violence only causes negative (or wrong) emtions, music can create a huge variety of emotions depending on the tune.

I feel like this topic should be "How much does music influence violence/peace?" If I had to say though, from your question...Violence. Since not everybody listens to music, but violence is always relavent in society, and has always been since the dawn of time.

Music and violence are not mutually exclusive. Violence is popular in the media and musicians with no talent like to take advantage of that because a disposition to murder is the only advantage they have. I'd say, of the two, music has more of an effect because it's a medium with which violence can be expressed and imitated.

This is why I hate rap.

I plan on putting my own opinion in later, and why does it need more detail?

basically cause detail makes a thread and a topic more interesting... the more a person knows more about a topic, the more likely they're going to want to comment about it (so long as it isn't a wall of text... there are limits. Try making every thread you make have an explanation of about 3-4 lines at the least!)

I purposely intended to be broad on this topic, but I agree, I do need to make I somewhat more specific

The Only way music could hurt someone would be if they got cut with a CD or it was played so loud it caused hearing damage.

I once gave my neighbour a lobotomy by continuously playing Guns & Roses on the radio, so yeah.

Mankind is a brutal species. We like to fight, and to kill, and to dominate. Thats why there will never be world peace. So I say violence.

The only correct answer is violence. Music is the result of a culture that has had all of its survival needs adequately met. To achieve that goal, violent conflict is inevitable. Therefore, by flimsy logic, violence created music. How can you top an influence like that?
