Hello,

I'm a fan of fighters and I'd like one that's going to keep me happy for a LONG time. I've currently been eyeing up VF5 preferably for the PS3 but I'd like to know exactly what makes this game as deep and complicated as reviews made out.

I'm a big fan of Dead or Alive, and I firmly believe DOA2/ Ultimate are the best 3D fighters around, because they're easy to pick up and play and the counters/ reversals are a button-basher's nightmare. Just a shame I don't find DOA4 so accessable.

As far as I'm aware, VF5 doesn't have this feature, or I don't see it in videos, so what has it got in its place? Can button bashers win games so easily in this game?

Have fun trying to button mash against any half decent player in that game. You can barely do it against some of the CPU opponents. If you want online though you will need to get the 360 version.

For starters, there are only a few button-masher moves, and those get predictable fast. Same as in any other good fighter.

No, it is not easy to just pick up and win fight after fight and that is what I love about it.

At a simple glance all of the characters have your basic PPPK type combos but don't expect that to get you too far. Each character is very different to the other and that's where it pays to find one who's style matches your style of play and master their intricacies. Also, as each character has a different fighting style you will need to adapt your tactics to defeat them. Try going full on offensive to Aoi and she will turn you inside out.

Virtua Fighter is the Grand Turismo of fighting games, whereas games like DOA are the Burnout.

Hmmm, I can understand why some like it, but I don't think it's for me then. I'm into just pick up and play games, and I want other friends to pick up and play it as well.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
