I get by with avast! Antivirus, Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy. All free, all powerful utilities.

I use AVG. I dunno if it works or not, (all it ever finds are registry errors, never viruses or trojans) but it feels placebo-safe.

AVG.

Free one's good, paid one's better.
I tried downloading it and it told me my subscription was over. Could you send me a link to the free one.

I rarely see anyone recommend COMODO internet security. It's free, has anti virus, firewall and some weird thing that prevents unauthorised programs from modifying your computer with a thing it calls the "sandbox". It's worked brilliantly for me so far, although its firewall and sandbox thing can be fairly naggy if you have them set higher than training mode...

Although they aren't cheap, I recommend you try out the trials and/or buy Kaspersky, BitDefender and nod32.

I really really really hate paying for my anti virus software. I use AVG mostly. But I also use malwarebytes, spybot search and destroy and super anti spyware.

Be careful where you get your antivirus software because some of them are virus's themselves.

Great website for getting all this stuff : http://www.filehippo.com/

Mac OSX. Never gotten a virus.

But as for the Windows partition on my Macbook, I've never found anything for free that works well. People have recommended AVG free and such, but it messed with the permissions on my system and is constantly irritating me with popups and warnings out of nowhere.
