Vista Internet Woes

I have vista 32bit, and it is causing me problems.
I have a wireless card in my computer, but I am connected to the router via ethernet cable. But Vista will only recognize the wireless connection, even when I disable it.

How can I make my computer realize that it is wired to the router?

is the network card installed?

simple ways to make sure it is. if it is internal go to the mobo's website and download the driver, if it's a plug in card then go to the manufacturer's website and get the drivers

m$ has a bad habit of not including network adapter drivers, even generic ones, such as ne2000 drivers, until you can get the real ones
