In case you weren't aware, VNDB has "Cyberpunk" tagged games [https://vndb.org/g682] (warning: NSFW). I can't vouch for their quality though.

I know, but I prefer to hear the suggestions of other users.
Btw, here is a site with emulated VN:

And there's my recommendation out of the way.

Seriously though, Steins;Gate was not only the VN that got me into VNs, but it also got me into anime which has now also extended to manga. It's a sci-fi time travel story set in the modern day; it's pre-cyberpunk in aesthetic, but it has a fair number of cyberpunk themes.

It also recently (as in a year ago) had its official English release, though I'm still not so sure how easy it would be to acquire if you don't live in the US. I think there are downloadable DRM-free versions for sale from the digital retailers.

I have a personal favorite in Long Live the Queen. It's Dark Souls the VN! You will die. You will die a lot.(whoops, missed the cyberpunk requirement)

Storywise, well everyone already told you about the best.

Also, I'd like to give you a very hearty thanks for introducing me to VA-11 HALL-A. I had to google it and it's the right degree of absurd for me to love it.

Glad you like it.
You can play the Demo if you like here:
http://kiririn51.itch.io/valhalla-bar

I suggest you to play it, because it will be not part of the main game. It is a stand alone story. Worth our time of course.

If you're willing to settle for just the (interactive) novel part, Choice of Games has Choice of Robots [https://www.choiceofgames.com/robots/#utm_medium=web&utm_source=ourgames] (it's also available on Steam). You design a revolutionary robot, the first ever to have a truly sentient AI! Of course, this creation will take you places. You can try to conquer the world, go the Chobits route, give birth to Skynet, start an unethical relationship with a journalist, become best buddies with China during their war against the United States, start a cult... Well written and highly interactive.

I think they have several other scifi novels, but I haven't played those (yet) and can't say anything useful about the quality (or lack thereof). Choice of Robots I highly recommend, though.

Already have it, but I will admit I didn't yet play it.
I will play it for sure now.

Well invisible apartment is a cyberpunk VN on steam. It's... Well it's free cyberpunk and not too long so you know. Read only memories is more of a adventure game, but it looks* neat. (*I keep neglecting to actually play it.) Sunrider is a free VN/TBRTs on steam. It's more just space/mecha not cyberpunk. It's not really that impressive except that it's really good for a free game. I want to find some cyberpunk VN myself, so i hope other people can fish something up.

I'm in the UK, it's available everywhere for PS3 and Vita.

I've heard good things about Hanachirasu and Kikokugai. I think those are both cyberpunk.

I dunno, I play visual novels, but I tend to go for the realistic slice-of-life fiction ones more often.

Yup I would definitely go for this picked it up on a whim for PS3 recently for 20 quid and its one of the best buying decisions I have made for a game in years (piece of Entertainment software would probably be a better description than game).

Strange I have read only tried a few Visual Novels but they have provided fantastic entertaining experiences (with a few duds I dropped) and yet I still have this stigma about them like I am unwilling to spend money on them for some reason.

As I have said I am not really that knowledgeable but I would also strongly recommend Saya No Uta in addition to Steins gate its pretty short especially in comparison and has very few choices but damn what a story.

Of course there is Katawa Shoujo which is free and was the first one I ever read. Its not as good as the above 2 imo but its still definitely worth a look especially for the price it is.

EDIT: If it absolutely has to be a cyberpunk world ignore the above. They are all set in our world or at least a world very similar to ours.

I will admit, I think the first time I become a user here, my first Thread was about Saya no Uta. It was one of the first VN I ever Played and I LOVE IT!!!!! Also it was so mess-up, it made me beware more the little cute girls XD
Also Katawa Shoujo is surprisingly very good for a free game and well-written.

Then I suggest you to read "Altered Carbon" by Richard K. Morgan. Very good Cyberpunk Lore to get you interested for a long time.

I'm a broken record on this subject: Anything by Christine Love!

Analogue: A Hate Story and Digital: A Love Story are both good, and feature a great deal more interactivity than your typical VN (there is a pseudo-hacking element to both). if you want something a little more conventionally shaped, there is Don't take it personally, babe, it just ain't your story, which is quite short and free. And also has a great deal more to say than most VNs, even if the story telling gets a bit hackneyed. Currently I am waiting for her to release "My Twin Brother Made Me Crossdress As Him And Now I Have To Deal With A Geeky Stalker And A Domme Beauty Who Want Me In A Bind!!", which apparently is going to be a satire of the typical dating VNs.

I played Analogue and indeed at some point the game caught me off guard [you know which part of the game :)].
Digital was ok, however I will admit I didn't liked the concept and the ending.
The "Don't take it personally, babe, it just ain't your story" will try it some other day.
Finally...the last one sound promising in a weird way. I alredy know about this game, but I didn't know the developer.

I have seen a interview ore two about her newest game it sounds crazy. Basically a dating sim boiled down to it's purest form and then built back up. The conversation system also sounds really neat.

I downloaded Katawa Shoujo because I have a terrible compulsion that makes me look at weird shit. 20 hours of play later and with four of the five routes complete, I'm extremely glad I did. It's worth downloading just for Emi and Lilly's routes, which brought me to the edge of total emotional breakdown. Shizune's and Hanako's routes aren't up to the same standard, but are still very good and can stand up on their own merits just fine. Only Rin's route left...
