So I assume those chains in the last panel are Sony proprietary and ridiculously expensive.
They're also proprietary chains, meant only for use on Sony hardware and software. Using them without such usually sends people into a state of dementia worse than death. DRM these days.
[sub][sup]Please note that the contents of this comment are a joke. Please do not start a DRM-related flamewar, due to the risk of black plaque and whining.[/sup][/sub]

Frankly, I would totally buy this. Just for the sake of having it.

Also, it's disappointing to see how many people missed what this was a reference to.

That really awkward moment where I haven't even SEEN "Hellraiser", but I still get the reference just fine.

Was the Vita really that painful? I thought people liked it.

I didn't get the reference at all. But then I came here and everybody was quite helpful.
thanks, posters.

Also, the whole Hellraiser scene didn't bother me much, I'm alright with that sort of thing; *however*, lacktheknack's avatar (post above mine, page 2) *is* scaring the living heck out of me. I can't stop staring at it : |

I involuntarily screamed as soon as i saw that damn cube. Having it produced by Sony now just made it 300% more Satan.

I take it this is a Silent Hill reference...Holy hell that was messed up!
That iconography must have some older origin. I recognize it as the interpretation of Hell from the TV show 'Supernatural' as well.

-nic. The adjective is Satanic. Now, I know we're talking about ritualistic symbolism concerning the manifestation of evil and I appreciate the gravity of that subject matter, but that is still no excuse for lax grammar.

I hope that it's because people on this forum largely don't like horror films and less about me being old and remembering good, classic horror films (in which case, "you damn kids with your Saws and your Final Destinations!"). While the exact jab the writers were going for may not be 100% clear...the Hellraiser reference is.

I gotta shake my head in disappointment for five minutes.

I think you mean lax grammar. Also, it's Hellraiser. You kids these days.

The reference to the babble the dudes were speaking at the conference made me laugh more than the final joke :p

It was like they were just making words up at one point.

Wow guys, not having seen Hellraiser isn't that big of a deal. It's a pretty terrible franchise.. yesteryear's "Saw". The first film was decent as a concept, but it was just torture-gore stuff. Definitely terrifying, as a concept, rather I'd just read a story for that. As a film franchise though? Eh.

If you haven't seen it, you definitely don't need to shred your nerd/geek/dork credentials, is what I'm trying to say.

Jesus wept, no one has any taste in movies anymore.
Hellraiser isn't exactly a new movie, chum. It's a touch late to start talking about bad taste in movies.
Also, it really wasn't that great a movie. Utter waste of a really good idea, in fact.

I still can't tell the difference between Bladerunner and The Fifth Element.
Blade Runner has Harrison Ford before he was all old and nasty, Fifth Element has Bruce Willis before he was old and nasty. Oh, and Mila Jovovich. No Mila in Blade Runner.

I didn't get the reference (in fact, I thought it reminded me of an '80s Classic Who episode) but that's hardly indicative of much at all. References like this, no matter it being a part of "nerd culture," are becoming harder and harder to get by the vast majority of the audience due to our "nerd culture" branching out in so many directions. In fact, our culture can probably be sub-divided into at least a half-dozen different sub-cultures that all have their own references and in jokes, and there's really no shame in not knowing one or a few. I'm horrible at comics in general, and their immense lore, as well as anything horror related. I didn't get the joke but it doesn't mean I'm bad with the "nerd culture."

OT: The Vita isn't a bad machine and works extremely well (as long as the back touchpad isn't used...). The PS4 scares me more than the Vita ever did.

I'm sorry to "ruin" your joke, but...there's bad porn?
Yep. In addition to the ones mentioned in Cracked, there's always this [http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/bj/tcs/15636-ep001] (link is to a censored review, so SFW).

In all honesty, I would like a Lament Configuration just for myself. Doesn't matter who releases it, Nintendo could put it out for $1000 bucks and I'd still try to get it. I don't care if it will kill me, it's just badass
I bought one for a friend. You can find them at http://www.pyramid-gallery.com/LamentConfig.html . It was pricey but the music was delightfully creepy. Here's what it looks like:

Ideally I would have had it shipped to him from some Middle Eastern country, with a mysteriously charred note attached asking:

What's your pleasure, sir?
