I want to get a vita eventually, and that Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation bundle looks quite nice. The quiestion is, is there a version of that bundle that comes with a 3G vita?, or do I have to get both separate if I want the 3G? (and is the 3G even worth it?)

I believe there is a 3G bundle, or at least there was.

Can't speak for how good it is myself, though. The 3G is an extra service you've gotta pay a sub plan for, so I decided it wasn't worth it and went for the cheaper one myself.

If you've got decent wireless internet wherever you are, it doesn't really matter anyway. Unless you're on the road a lot.

The 3G is... eeeeeh. You don't really need it honestly, unless you're going on long road trips and such and really need to use the internet.

Also, Assassin's Creed Liberation is a gimmick filled mess that doesn't even WORK properly at times. Total waste of money.

Go with the cheaper model (non 3G) get Persona 4 Golden (maybe in a bundle) and enjoy, from what little I played of Liberation, it isn't that fun.
Funny story actually, another reason why I want the vita is that I got myself the solid gold edition of it for if I do, that carrying case might come in real handy (especially since it comes with what many call one of the best RPGs ever, and I happened to like the generally inferior Persona 3, so I should logically like Persona 4).

As for everyone saying Liberation isn't that good, I mostly play Assassin's Creed for the story anyways (the hidden blade counter basically breaking non-multiplayer combat when mastered).

I can't speak for the 3G but their's supposed to be a Soul Sacrifice bundle coming out soon and given the recent price drop in Japan people in the west should get it at a lower price soon as well (unless it's already lower in which case I am an idiot)

I got the 3G version because it's the only one in Canada (i think?) that came with Gravity Rush... plus I got it for Christmas :p

I don't pay for a plan, so I don't use it at all. However, you do get the GPS function for free... so I guess there's that if you don't have it on your phone? I don't know how the prices are in other countries, but in Canada the 3G data planes are PROHIBITIVELY and RIDICULOUSLY expensive.

Yeah, 3G is nice. Paying money for a spotty connection and very limited data use is totally worth it. /sarcasm

Anyway , If you're looking at buying a Vita, you should have at least five games you'd like to play for it before your purchase. That's my way of deciding whether or not I should buy a console.

Gravity Rush, Persona 4: Golden, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Wipeout 2048, and Rayman: Origins are games that I believe warrant a purchase. Disgaea 3 is another, but that can be a very niche game. Of course, you still have the entire PSP collection on the PSN store, so you should be set if you have a large enough memory card. (Which is required by the way, so you better get a large one if you plan on investing a ton of money into the Vita.)

Also, if you plan on using your Vita often, I can highly advise that you purchase Playstation +. It's an awesome service that gives you free games every month. It easily pays for itself.

Edit: From what I've been hearing, AC: Liberation isn't a very good game. Very spotty with graphics, half-assed multiplayer just to make a quick buck, and so on.

I picked up a wifi vita on eBay and have been very happy. I just don't run into many situations where I don't have wifi available (and I'm in the middle of a cornfield - granted in a college town - but still in the cornfields). I'd say skip the 3G.

This! I really didn't think I'd like Plus, but between Uncharted and Gravity Rush, it has already paid for itself. There are also some really great sales from time to time, so I'd definitely recommend the service.

3G is useless in my opinion. There's WiFi everywhere anyway. And you need to pay to use the service. Not worth it.

As for the bundle, by all means get it, although I'd think twice about the choice of the game. AC3:L is alright but it's by far the weakest AC game I've played, the framerate borders on unplayable at times and the control scheme has been swapped all over the place for whatever reason.

Also, you'll need to get one of those ridiculously expensive memory cards as well. They do pack a 4GB one in with the bundle but the game does not come on a cartridge, they just give you a download code. And when you download it, it takes up almost all the mem card space.

I myself am considering a Vita but I won't be getting the 3G model, I don't want to pay a bill. Personally I am more interested in being able to play PS1 classics such as FF7, Chrono Cross etc....on the Vita. Imagine portable FF7!? I would never put it down lol.

As for AC, I haven't played that one so can't recommend it. But I do recommend Gravity Rush, that game is awesome.
