Voice of Half-Life 2's Dr. Breen Dies, Aged 79

Actor Robert Culp, who may be most recognizable to gamers as the voice of Half-Life's Dr. Breen, passed away earlier today at the age of 79.

According to authorities, Robert Culp [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0191685/] had been in the middle of taking a walk near his home in Los Angeles, California earlier today, when he fell and hit his head. The septuagenarian actor was discovered by a passing jogger, and rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

A veteran actor, Culp had quite a few recognizable roles to his name, from playing tennis star-cum-secret-agent Kelly Robinson opposite Bill Cosby in the 1960s TV series Everybody Loves Raymond [http://www.amazon.com/I-Spy-Season-Bill-Cosby/dp/B0012EBV88/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1278962305&sr=1-1].

But gamers will know Culp best as the voice of Half-Life 2 [http://www.amazon.com/Half-Life-2-Episode-Pack-Pc/dp/B001440YD4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1278962379&sr=1-2] antagonist Dr. Wallace Breen, the scientist who was the liaison to the Combine and the administrator of the occupied Earth. Breen was presumably killed in the destruction of his Citadel at the end of Half-Life 2: Episode One, but he was still a memorable villain to anyone who played the celebrated shooter.

RIP, Dr. Breen. You will be missed.

I was just thinking of making a source mod from his point of view...
Can't help but feel that now it would be in a bit of bad taste.

At least he didn't die in the explosion of the plasma-type-thing core of an alien monolith building.

RIP Breen's Voice

I can't wait to see this reflected on in After Curfew with Dr. Breen.

Well, guess it was his time to go. Too bad.

If he was supposed to make an appearance in HL2:E3 I sure hope that they recorded it already.
(I know it wouldn't make sense though)

He didn't deserve to die...

Rest in Peace, and thank you for one amazing video game villain.

Not that I really care too much...I mean...It's only Breen. They'll get a replacement somehow...

I hope Valve wasn't planning on using him. Then again, this is what happens when you take too much time on something...
