Well thanks to the volcanic activity in Iceland, Me and my dad have to drive from Finland to England, it's going to take 48 hours to get there. Is anyone else buggered because of the volcano?
... now, I'm an american and according to most europeans we are horrible at geography but... how the crap are you going to DRIVE to finland from england? Isn't England ya know, an island? Or are you going in some really roundabout way involving a chunnel?darkmushroomm said:Well thanks to the volcanic activity in Iceland, Me and my dad have to drive from Finland to England, it's going to take 48 hours to get there. I think it's possible, if you drive to France first, and then take the tunnel.ace_of_something said:... now, I'm an american and according to most europeans we are horrible at geography but... how the crap are you going to DRIVE to finland from england? Well my grandparents were trying to fly out of the country, but for myself I don't have any travel plans.darkmushroomm said:Well thanks to the volcanic activity in Iceland, Me and my dad have to drive from Finland to England, it's going to take 48 hours to get there. Ferries don't seem like they should count as driving. I'll let it pass on the grounds that saying 'driving and taking a ferry for 48 hours' is a little too wordy.fenrizz said:I think it's possible, if you drive to France first, and then take the tunnel.ace_of_something said:... now, I'm an american and according to most europeans we are horrible at geography but... how the crap are you going to DRIVE to finland from england? Bubt I suspect they will be taking a ferry from either Norway or Sweden.
They go regularly.
There is a crossing from sweden to denmark, 2 bridges and a tunnel, or the other way around, then its either ferry from denmark to england, or keep on to france and catch the ferry or the eurotunnel train to england, but thats a hell of a trip.fenrizz said:I think it's possible, if you drive to France first, and then take the tunnel.ace_of_something said:... now, I'm an american and according to most europeans we are horrible at geography but... how the crap are you going to DRIVE to finland from england? OT:
Hearing a lot of talk about it, but haven't really seen or suffered any effects yet.
Other that a faint odor of sulphur.
I reckon it'll be like the swine flu; Much talk about how horrible it's going to get, and in the end it'll work out without much of a fuzz.

Source is the Top Gear Blog or something like that...but yeah, this volcanic disaster is Top Gear's doing *nods*As widely reported in the media this week, James May was spotted in Iceland days before the volcano eruption that paralysed British air space.
Today, experts worldwide have rushed to blame TopGear for the holiday-ruining cloud of ash and doom sweeping over the UK.
According to local media, the shaggy-haired television presenter was witnessed driving a modified Hilux to the rim of the Eyjafjallajoekull volcano last week.
Though initially assumed that he was simply filming a feature for the the popular motoring television show, it has since been speculated that May?s purpose was far more devious.
?It has been scientifically proven that TopGear is responsible for almost every evil in the modern world, so the eruption of a furious tectonic force barely a week after Richard Clarkson?s ?visit? can hardly be viewed as mere coincidence,? says media commentator Annalisa Kneejerk.
?We have it on good authority that Jeremy Hammond drove one of his favourite Ferrari gas-guzzlers at 100mph, straight into the main magma chamber, which could quite easily have caused this geological catastrophe. Thankfully I?ve never watched the show.?

Yeah, and people hate that the most. They're always wanting to blame someone and it's so unsatisfying when you have nothing but Earth or God or the tectonic plates or nature to blame...Valksy said:I really hope I don't have to see any more whiney people on the news over the matter. Is it a nuisance? Yes. But it is a no fault situation.
