Edit: And I believe they're most likely doing this so the game won't be cracked before release and instead the day after release. Which is funny because it will be available to pirates on console days before actual release.
Seems to me it would be more effective to just, yanow, not include the entire game's content in the demo.
Its not that, its that they break the executable code and then use that to make the crack for the full game.
Then how would it be available to pirates before release? Unless you mean they'd have the code ready to import the data, but like you said, they'd have the code cracked almost as soon after release as they can gather that up anyway.
The Console version usually get leaked early by people like gamestop employees

Volition could add Nyan Cat to it's next Freespace Game...which is what they should get cracking on as soon as they finish this Red Faction project up...I'm seriously here.

OT: Freddie Wong always seems to make good short clips. But I don't see how his Unicorn is linked to Red Faction...
...It's a rainbow farting Unicorn. I don't think it's "linked" to anything....

Question:

If we get this weapon, does this mean we'll live in harmony, harmony, OH LOVE?

(Sorry...had to get this out of the way.)

After RF:G, and how I got bored with it after a few hours, I'm skeptical about this. I'll download the demo and see...

...

Well, it isn't on Steam, or the RF:A site...

...

And PSN is down...

...

Hmm... so, looks like there is no PC demo (PC getting shafted again, there's a surprise), and I can't try it on PS3. Well, that was an easy $50 saved...
there is a demo (well, the first 30 mins. of the full game) here: http://www.redfaction.com/blog-post/try-rfa-now-onlive%25E2%2580%2599s-instant-demo

oh, and on the website, they say that you get mr. toots for finishing the game in sp, and can use him in something called "New Game + mode" which I'm guessing is just the campaign again with everything you unlocked...

Yeah, I actually found that and tried it, but still unsure on the game. Unlike RF:G, it seemed to have more of a story then "destroy X amount of stuff then do a real mission", but not sure if that was just the beginning or not. Guess it is time to wait for reviews...

After a bunch of reviews, it looks like the game is at least a solid 8/10, but they all vary wildly. Some hate the new linear story, some love it. Guess it just comes down to which you prefer...

Jeez, those were some seriously patchy effects in that second video.

OT: Fits in with Volition's tendency for mad fun, and I'll be honest, it's gotten me a little more interested in RF:A.
