Every time I tried to take on the Archdemon at the end of DragonAge: Origins it would chew me, my party and all the allied soldiers I had persuaded (tricked) to join me on this suicide run up and spit us out. In desperation I turned to one of the mounted balistas on the towers and found that every time you hit the Archdemon with a bolt, it does a little stagger animation. With this, and the balista's excellent rate of fire in mind, I just steadily chipped away at the Dragon monster hell thing's health as Alistar bravely but vainly attacked it with his sword-after about 20-25 mins our combined efforts whittled its health bar down enough for me to run and steal the kill, becoming the greatest hero ever!

The Halo games: Getting Warthogs into places they werent ment to be...

Such as the Scarab in Halo 2 and several corridors in Halo CE.

And I managed to kill Halo 2's final boss using a Banchee.

Ass. Creed 2, final boss: Flash bombs... Just do it!

Hoo boy, have I got an old one.

Aerosmith the arcade rail shooter. Don't remember which level it was, but there was this giant robot ant thing that chases you for half a level, until you finally square off at a rope bridge. Three continues later, I've used up my last quarters and have a little health left. NOTHING has hurt this thing, bullets, special ammo, nothing. So, out of sheer pissed off "whatever" attitude, I start shooting the poles on either side of the robot.

The posts get shredded under my machine gun, the bridge collapses, and the robot falls into an abyss. End level.

ARGH.

Probably many times, but highest in my memory was:

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Fighting Ganon at the end: I was shooting light arrows at his head in order to get him to bend over stunned so I could slice his tail. I kept barely making it in time to get one slice in, and was probably using the wrong sword anyway.

I then ran out of light arrows. Annoyed, I checked a guide which insisted I should do what I was doing and that it's the only way to win the fight.

Now, without any light arrows, apparently there was no way I could possibly win, so I preceded to charge head on into Ganon and continuously roll into him so that he would surely kill me and I could try again.

Apparently I was too close, and all his attacks would swipe over my head and fail to hit me, making me effectively unkillable. And then the rolling hit the right angle and I rolled straight through his legs. I don't know if it's a clipping issue, or if they simply never expected it to work so never prevented it, but any time I fought Ganon in that game from then on I would just roll through his legs and hack his tail to bits.

That's why I can't even remember how to do it "properly".

blah blah Alpha Protocol blah can't believe that actually worked
Is that game any good, btw? It got bad reviews even though I was looking forward to it forever.
I dunno if anyone else answered it (because I'm too lazy to check another 4 pages), but - Yeah. If you can get past the sub-par graphics, and you can forgive sometimes dumb AI, there's a barrel of fun in there. Not to mention, that BioWare should take notes from Alpha Protocol about 'choice and consequence in RPG games', because AP did it masterfully. I honestly don't know why it was destroyed by the reviews. Then again I'm an Alpha Protocol Fanclub President, so what do I know...

OT: KotOR I - the final fight with Malak. Playing as a Consular, I was pissed about my force powers doing barely anything to that bastard, while he was destroying me with his saber attacks. When all else failed, I used my most shitty force power - lightsaber throw. He couldn't dodge it. I waited until the moment he healed from the Jedi husk for the first time, then drained all of the rest before spamming a lightsaber throw. The end, you saved/screwed the galaxy.

Crysis on delta on the habour mission where you have to kill the AA. I kill the first AA and the gunship shows up and I know there's a rocket launcher around but I JUST CAN'T FIND IT. I die many many times looking for it and eventually just dive into the lagoon to look for a rocket launcher somewhere else.

Then the gunship crashed into a VTOL and died.

he hit me hard.I ran to the health station, and hacked it out of habit. he jumped round landing in a patch of water, I electro-shocked him and hit him with the crossbow.
When he sends bots, use security plasmid on him and hypnotise the nitro spilcer.
He went down so fast i double took

Dead Space 2 and it's evil, EVIL school gymnasium level.
Basically I was doing a hard mode run on my first try (because I figured hey, I've played the original, surely it must be easier!) and as a result had about four plasma rifle bullets and two mines. Anyone who's played this part can tell you... that's not enough.

After getting minced by hundreds of razor handed children and exploding babies for a dozen attempts I tried something new! Laid a proximity mine with his sensor lazer facing directly down the back of the bleachers where the bastards spawned. The other was in the front, where they climbed out.
Activated the Macguffin, and BOOM. First mine goes off, lots of screams. Babies and monsters crawl out the front- BOOM, second mine. Then BOO-BOO-BOOM, sets off all the baby grenades. Necromorphs go flying left right and center.

Objective complete. At this point I felt Issac should have put on sunglasses... WITH the helmet on.

There was one time in DDO where my 16th level Paladin outright destroyed a vampire using turn undead. I was stunned, because vampires are almost never destroyed by that, they usually cower in fear until the effect wears off.

I did it with a guy tied to the plane by the grappling hook.
Gotta love that grappling hook :)

Diablo 1. On my first play through, I just couldn't seem to beat Diablo, no matter what I did. Until one time he ripped me apart as usual, only to leave my blood golem still standing at the end. Because the enemies in Diablo keep on attacking your corpse once your dead, the golem was just left standing there, punching Diablo, and I decided to leave it, just to see what happened.

It seemed that, because you were dead, the golem no longer had a time limit, and he eventually punched through all of Diablo's health and the game popped up with the game complete cutscene.

It was awesome.

Ruby Weapon, Final Fantasy VII

W-Summon Hades and Knight of the Round, just pausing long enough every other time to let him un-paralyze... BECAUSE THEY FORGOT TO MAKE HIM IMMUNE TO IT. Crikey, I laughed my bleeding eyes out! Hardest fight in the game turned into a game of amateur tiddlywinks by an otherwise unhelpful summon! Also needed hero drinks to maximize damage potential, but no big deal there x3

Yojimbo overdrive Vs every boss or creatue in the game 1 hit in FFX.

Knights of the Round Table or Limit level 4 then mime in FFVII.

Meltdown-Aura-Aura-Rezokuken-Pulse Ammo every boss in FFVIII.

There is a move that one hit kills everything in FFVI as well.

Once you have the right strategy FF games can be quite broken. Also Phoenix down on Zombie Everae and Final Boss in FFX.

You forgot about the Emerald Weapon one with Barret with Counter and mime after using Ungarmax.

jedi outcast. i was young, so i had a knack relying on cheats. Fighting dessan, everytime h killed me i would get angry, press escape and reload. eventually i turned on godlike (making it impossible for me to die) and spent half an hour hacking at him. I didn't kill him, so i checked it out online.

to get pass him the first time, you have to die. All i had to do was wait.

Drakensang the dark eye:river of time I managed to defeat one of the last bosses(there are 3 pretty hard one)that you have to fight one after another so it really sucks but I managed to defeat the stone golem just by running around with a fighter around him and shooting arrows with my archer, now some of you might think well that's not strange but that game has some pretty good AI and that's why I was surprised it worked
