Of course the best fucking game company on the planet doesn't make stuff for systems I have. Between this, the "no fucks given, no DRM implemented" position on piracy, and the free updates to PC versions of Witcher 2, I'm so depressed that I can not use any of their products.

This is a company I want to support, damnit.

"Do you want to use HD font size?"

What. The. Fuck.

More specifically, where the fuck has this option been hiding since 2007? Is it possible that some developers understand not everyone owns HD televisions and that trying to read HD-sized font on an old tube is damn-near impossible? Wow. Hats off to you CDProjekt. Seriously.
Lordy!

I still remember having to squint at the emails in deus ex HR -.-

CDProjekt have their highs and lows like any other company but overall I agree, they're definitely one of the best developer out there. Whether it's because they genuinely care or savvy marketing I don't know, but whichever it is they're beyond doubt one of the most pro-consumer around. A depressingly rare find in the gaming industry!

Replaying Witcher 2 right now and while I still think the beginning is a bit rough with those stupid dragon scenario and the jump-cut editing between story snips and scenario, overall it's definitely one of the best rpg released in ages. I especially love that despite having played the game once before when it was released, thanks to a few decisions I made differently this time it feels like an almost entirely different experience. I have no bloody clue how it's going to end despite having played it before, that's damned impressive!

I can't be the only guy who was put off by exactly how meaty Letho is. If he wasn't a mutant I'd have a damn hard time suspending disbelief lol
One thing I loved about Letho, in a great display of self-awareness he admits at some point that he knows his brutish appearance affects how regular people will regard him. He even exploits looking like a big dumb oaf as a trick.

So in other words, Letho is someone else put off by exactly how meaty Letho is :p

Dead Rising 1 would have needed that. Never complaeted it since it had extremly tiny fonts.

They...they did that? THANK THE EMPRAH! I have to game with an SD T.V. and the worst part of that is the text. I don't mind the graphics or the screen size, but the fact that I can't even read the fething text annoys the fuck out of me. Vanquish had an option for it but all my other 360 games I actually bought and played didn't.

Hats off to you CDProjekt. You get my vote next MM.

Although it sounds interesting I don't care too much for the Witcher series but I actully really want to buy it just to support these guys. It's the kinda game that I would probably like and these guy's who made it are pretty awesome so im really tempted to buy the 360 port at some point.
Still wishing my PC could run it though, oh well.

HD font is what we call it now, not font size? Well alrighty then...
Games with extra options is a real innovation these days, just shows how bad things really are.

But yeah CDProject guys know and do their shit well, let's just hope others follow.

Haven't got that far into the game itself yet, but the packacge is indeed an amazing one. A real manual, a hint/guide book, a soundtrack [...]
Yeah, this. I'd forgotten how nice it is to have an actual manual, not just a ridiculous little four-page pamphlet that just tells you to stick the disc into the drive to install it and play. (Mass Effect 3, I'm looking at you.)

I still miss the days of big ring-bound manuals like the original Fallout had, but it was nice to see a developer making the effort.

ME3 was bad but I have to call out Arkham City as the worst possible included material ever. You get a card telling you that the manual is on the disc in order to save trees and all that good stuff. Fine, I'll take that and it makes sense to me.

And then they also include a 10 page or so instruction manual sized booklet of advertising for various Batman/Akrham City related merchandise.

You weren't missing much. Just a very, very lonely old janitor constantly calling you about mundane things at the worst possible times, then getting pissy and calling you rude for accidentally hanging up on him while trying to dodge an insane mall clown with chainsaws.

It's not even that the text is small. It's not a matter of font size. The problem is, even though it feels like a size issue, it's a clarity issue - the pixels of the text blur together to create a mess in the brain. It can be remedied by increasing the size (and therefore increasing the number of pixels that can blur together before the writing becomes illegible), but it's not just caused by making the text smaller.

I learned that when I played Mass Effect 2 on a tiny HD tv and could read the Codex perfectly, whereas my 30" SD Tv I usually use to play, I had to squint and use a lot of context to have any chance of reading it. The actual letters were much smaller on the HD TV, but they were distinct enough that I could read them. On the SDTV, the letters were larger, but blurred and illegible
