The guys who made Neverwinter Nights were BioWare, if I'm not mistaken.
Obsidian has the tendency to go after BioWare, making sequels that are, while not bad, often unfinished.

I believe Obsidian is making the new one.

You must have been high while you played it.... KOTOR 2 had so many bugs, a crappy ending, and they took out the relationship quests.
