I've always thought that the word awkward has such an awkward spelling. Weird huh?

I just find that theres something really odd about the letters 'wkw' beside each other. Doesn't look right to me.

There are plenty of words that I think are spelled wierdly, but I can't spell most of them.

The name "Michael." It was actually fairly recently that I discovered how odd it looks. As if I've been writing the name for years, but didn't actually feel its strange until one day...

M-I-C-H... A? Where did the "A" come from? That's right, right?

Chamois, shillelagh, kindergarten, etc. Loanwords in English are probably a nightmare to consider when learning English when it comes to understanding spelling/pronunciation.
