Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. I'm sorry, but I did not like that game. But, hey, maybe they'll fix the problems in the sequel.
My thoughts exactly; the game was way too clunky and the story made no sense

Kane and Lynch. Universally hated, and yet it got a sequel. Meanwhile back at the ranch we're still waiting on Beyond Good and Evil...
Somebody's probably already said this, but Kane and Lynch is not universally hated. Just go onto gametrailers and read the comments section on a Kane and Lynch 2 video. A lot of people loved the story, even if the gameplay was pretty sub-par.

Left 4 Dead. Not because it was bad, completely the opposite. The sequel just seemed to be too soon, when the first game was (and is) still awesome
Left 4 Dead 2 seemed more like DLC put onto a disc. It would be nice if it was DLC because I'd love to see if Ellis dislikes Hospitals as much as Francis or, see if Bill has any war-stories centered around carnivals.

OT: I don't think Blade needed a TV series. Not that I'm against Blade but, the main problem I had with it was the lack of advertising. I didn't know it was a TV series until the first season was available at my local Blockbuster. Also there are other Marvel comics that would have better adapted to a live action series like...uh...ok, I can't think of any since they are all pretty much out there and better off in the form of cartoons...which is a better idea than a live action series. An animated Avenegers mini-series would be bad ass.

For the few of you who know about Fist of the North Star, I saw no point in the NEW Fist of the North Star other than to plug new music by Gackt. The reboot of Grappler Baki was pretty weird too.

Yes, Overlord.
I like Overlord :( And the sequel...
How you can like that abomination of a game is something I do not wish to know.
sadly i like it too, idk how i would classify it genre wise but i had fun with it, the overall atmosphere was fun and being the bad guy was awesome, sending in minions like crazy was fun beatin the piss out of the medieval fat douchers.

plus i loved the intro music in the main menu...

although i have only played a few hours of the first one, i have beaten the second one to a pulp.
Well that's the thing;

You aren't the bad guy.
well, unless you go for the corrupt evil options, which is bad a bit.
No, you still aren't the bad guy.
You are considered the LESSER of two evils.
So shortly said; No, No you aren't evil at all.
I...but...who...I...wait, choosing to do the more evil option makes you the lesser of two evils?

My brain now hurts...

probably kinda a sequel-ish dawn of war soulstorm we didnt need two race that NO ONE plays tabletop tacked on to the game which was straight up shite.

also kane and lynch 2 somehow they managed to make it worse blurring out peoples heads when i blast em wtf is this shit? whats the purpose why does it look like im playing the game through an old digital camera? how the fuck can the cops move as though their drinking coffee with cocaine as the sugar and ground up speed as the dusted sugar on their doughnuts.

the game is shit and thats all gathered from the criminally short demo.

Bloodrayne.

This applies to both the game and the movie.

Are people really that desperate for hot vampire chicks?
I'll never forget the announcement in the official UK PS2 magazine. The first sentence began, "Those who enjoyed the first BloodRayne game (afternoon, Dave) will likely be pleased...."

I dunno about that, the original FotNS is what, 23 years old? Looks a bit dated these days so I reckon it was just a way of giving it a makeover and presenting it to today's audience. Besides I doubt most people who like the original are complaining as it's kind of a cult classic :p

OT: Anyone else think they should have stopped making Resident Evil sequels a while ago? Just seems to be getting worse lol

starcraft sequel took me off by complete surprise... i mean sure starcraft was sorta cool at first, but it got old fast, and it was generally pretty crap really. And now a sequel like 12 years later? Whats up with that Blizzard? They should seriously just be spending that time and effort on something that actually counts, like making the next wow expansion.
I'm guessing it's something to do with its popularity in places like South Korea. It's absolutely massive there, so there's clearly a market for a sequel.

Boondock Saints?

I loved the original. I haven't seen the sequel and I doubt I ever will. I loved the original before it was adorned with all the medals of being a cult classic and hoped it would remain as a quiet little gem for the worthy to love. Then they made it. They made it regardless of how I felt. So yeah, one day I may accidentally see it, but until that day, I cannot forgive the crime.

Ever see a sequel come out that you think to yourself "why did this get a sequel?" if so what game was it?
There are so many, but I'd have to say the "Def Jam" fighting game series. I actually tried it a couple of times because I figured there had to be something to it, but really I wasn't all that impressed, and that's saying something since I'm a bit fan of games with character customization in general.

I guess a lot of it comes down to tastes though, and I guess the star power (such as it is) in those games caused them to sell a lot of copies to the fans, which of course lead to sequels.

I suppose it's always mind numbing when you look at something you don't like, and see it sell well. Everyone goes through it.

I'll also say that "third chapters" in games are especially infamous for this. When you have a broken sequel to a successful game that sells well because of the original, it's painful to watch a third game come out with the designers continueing practices that they thought made the sequel successful when in reality people wanted something more akin to the first one despite any complaints they might have made at the time. When it comes to the third game in a franchise where a second game sold well but was lacking... well that's oftentimes when I feel most like I'm watching a slow motion train wreck.

On some levels I am half expecting "Mass Effect 3" to become an infamous example of this. While a lot of people have praised it's transformation into a glorified shooter, a lot of people are also very miffed about it. You see debates about it constantly. Mass Effect 2's high sales in part due to the fact that they got a lot of fans from the first one who didn't buy first release copies of it, but a lot of those people who played it used went to buy initial copies of ME 2.... at any rate with a divided fan base I'm expecting the third one to be marketed as a juggernaut, and then meet with much more wary reception than they expect.... off topic to the discussion, but I just figured I'd mention it as an aside since it's actually been on my mind pretty heavily.
