the name of my vessel's pretty common, so i don't really care, and noone but me is Akytalusia. i did get weirded out when i found out someone was using one of my alt's name's for some peotry blog though.

My RL namesake is an actor, and that's a bit weird. On the other hand, no-one would be able to find me with just Google.
Medium common first name. Slightly uncommon but not unheard of last name. I haven't met a person that shares both my first and last name, but I bet they're everywhere.
Well, funny thing - a few months ago i spotted someone going by my nickname (not that common nicnkname, mind you). Interestingly, this was some kind sex forum - some guys reviewed their escapades and stuff. Another thing - and this time i felt a little unease. A friend of mine participated in some event taking place in southern parts of my country. After a few days he sent me an e-mail with some photos and asked what i was doing there. I was curious about the matter, so i opened atached photos - et voila - there he was. A man looking exactly like me. Moreover - his facial features (beard) was very similiar to mine, also he grinned in that stupid way i do. That was awkward...
I make no fuzz, what I'm still trying to understand is how in the hell my cousin could name all of his children after him.

He names his firstborn (my cousin) Nelson.
My cousin has twins, and he names both of them Nelson.
He then has another child, guess what? he named him Nelson too.

Only I've met (that I can think of) is a bloke who worked at a hotel I was staying at while on vacation with the family who shared the same first and middle name (being Thomas William) with a different surname. He went "No way!" and I went "No way!" and we shook hands. Nice guy.

We were both in the mosh pit, and I ran towards him without paying attention to his face, but suddenly the lights came on, and I was staring at me with a bit less beard, a bit less hair, and a year or so younger.
I was so "WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!" that I ran into another guy who caught me off balance, and I landed on my ass.
I never saw that doppleganger again (thankfully).
Well, I've actually found out how many people there are with my exact name (first name and surname): two. There's three people in the world with my name, myself included. So yeah, there hasn't been a case where I'd come across my own full name somewhere unless it's referring to me. However, since there's only a couple of us in the world, I do get letters and phonecalls that are intended for one of the other people with myname quite regularly.
You know, it's never come up. I think there are about 3 or 4 people in the world with my first name.
My father-in-law shares his name with a prominent UN-diplomat. Once my in-laws booked tickets to a concert in my father-in-law's name. When they arrived , they were ushered to the best seats in the house, were given drinks and introduced to some celebrities. Noone realised the mistake until the diplomat arrived.
For chosen name, I've never seen an AngryMongoose, but they have occasionally nicked my screen name; sometimes alternatives too.

I just get disappointed when people use "Creator002" for something (I'm looking at you PS3 Creator002 user!)
As for my real name, I'm sure there are a million people in the world with the name "Aaron", my last name, however, is a hyphenation and joining of my grandparents last names, Realé and Key (dropping the accent on the "é", making Reale-Key), so only my immediate family and some cousins have the same last name as me.

Never happened with a real person ("Ross" is not a very common name) but there was a minor character who shared my name on Dr. Who once. It was actually kind of odd.
This scene(starting about 20 seconds in) gave me a very strange sense of pride.

A number of my RL friends have added some random american with the same name as me, because they were too lazy to actually check the photo.
Also, as part of my job, I have to undertake a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check, my colleague nearly failed his, because they mistook him for a serial killer with the same name.
My character names are generally fairly unique, I think I've only ever had 1 of my 100 or so names taken by someone else.
