Walk-through or Laugh-through?

The laugh-through, definitely. I like seeing other people's interpretations of characters and settings in games whether I've played them or not.

I am currently following Game Grumps as well as Liamsixx and Lecoffeebandit, both of whom mainly do blind runs and are currently handling Link's Awakening and Oracle of Seasons (blind) respectively. Liam seems to have more experience in the myriad ways of Zelda but he's still fun to watch, and at some point it stops being funny and starts getting tedious when either of them (mainly Lecof) spends hours on a very simple puzzle. Lucky we have editing. Liam's blind Mega Man races have also been consistently entertaining.

I like the more serious ones. As the only 'walkthrough' video's I watch are purely to determine if I want to buy/play the game myself or not. The goofing around ones are stupid and boring, and the guide walkthroughs are unneeded for me.

I don't watch walkthroughs unless I'm absolutely sure that I'm not going to play the game so I figure if I'm going to watch it, it might as well find it funny.

Depends. Lotus Prince is my go-to guy for informative and entertaining approaches, but he does occasionally turn a little dry. I prefer to approach guys like Tobuscus, Markiplier et al. in the strictest moderation, seeing as watching guys scream at their computers in the most hilariously forced manner ever gets old pretty fucking fast.

The best LPs tend to come from people who don't fancy themselves comedians, as far as I'm concerned, and who still occasionally manage the oddly appropriate zinger. I'll take that over PewDiePie's excessive uses of dicks and vaginas, thank you very much.

I do appreciate TotalBiscuit, but we really don't see eye to eye on occasion. I'll see something I'll like and then sit there, watching him go through what appears to be nothing but useless picking at imaginary faults or very minor flubs. I don't remember which game he did this for, but there *was* one instance where he practically slammed the entire thing into the floor for not having a field-of-view slider.

That's it. No FOV = Worst Game Ever.

Yeah, sure, the industry can use picky types to really weed out any seriously bad habits lazy producers and studios might be enabling, but there's being picky and then there's being petty. Once in a blue moon, TB crosses that line for me.

Oh, right! Bioshock Infinite. I do remember him being excessively critical of the game. To each his own, of course, but I really couldn't consistently agree with his opinion. As far as I'm concerned, I keep watching if his criticisms feel justified or if I'm still interested. I don't think I've ever been so petty as to stop a vid because he said something I didn't agree with - but yeah.

He's a bit of my personal prickly pear. Full of juicy commentary goodness, but there's still the occasional spine or barb that makes me wince.
