Walking Dead Videogame Confirmed, Not Based on TV

Wow, I'm quite interested to see my favorite TV show of last year turned into the first M rated game from Telltale, and even better, it will stick to the source material, instead of following the TV show.

I would really love to play an MMO where you're just trying to survive in a zombocalypse world. No levelling stats, no real missions, just items/resources you can gather and places you can try to hide in while zombies constantly find and try to kill you. This type of an MMO might need to have several different starting points that it spawned new players in, though. A huge crowd of people all appearing at the same spot would probably just defend that one spot from the zombies and never fully branch out.

Does such a game already exist?

No one has said their game is going to be a point and click. Plus they've already been working on a more action oriented series with the Jurassic park games.

As for dead state it's sort of like a combination of Left 4 Dead and the old Fall out style of games. Look it up it really sounds great.

Great! I prefer the comic. The tv version is nice and all, but in the comic i feel that ANYTHING can happen and that nobody is safe. Cant say the same for the tv adaptation.

I hope that they focus on the survival skills and not just hack´n slash. Details like not using guns so you dont draw any zombies. That could be well expolored in a game

This is all I ever hear about zombie games! There really aren't that many out there, espesically when you compare them to the HUGE number of "Brown-Modern-FPS."

Give me 10 zombie games, not DLC or game modes, but real deal zombie games, released in the last 5 years, or shut up. The only thing more annoying than people talking to their avatars, are people saying that there are too many zombie games, when there are hardly any of them.

I count 36 since '05. So don't be such a douche. And that's counting things like "resident evil series" and "dead rising series" as 1 game.

Also, zombies is a pretty specific sub genre. It doesn't need a lot to be overdone. Maybe this game will offer something a little bit different but we'll see.

EDIT: Also, who are you to tell me to shup up because you don't think there's a lot of them? I never said there's a lot. Maybe I don't like the genre and it's my opinion that even TWO is too many? Truthfully that's not the case but it doesn't give you the right to be like that.

Nice list ya got there, counting a bunch of iPhone games that have had less work than fucking Minecraft. Even more so, I said "not just game modes", so why'd you give me a list full of game modes? I asked for full blown games the size of Dead Rising, not minigames. Then the list goes on to write Dead Space, so yeah, that list is really bad, first time that I find Wikipedia to be false.

Not trying to be a douche, just somewhat annoyed by people constantly saying that there are OH SO MANY ZOMBIE GAMES OUT THERE WHY ARE THE DEVELOPERS SHOVING ZOMBIES INTO EVERYTHING when that's not even the case.

Why wouldn't iPhone games count? That's a "real deal zombie game." And I count exactly 2 on the list, and one of them is CoD WaW, which happens to be also a game mode on a very popular game which I would actually hazard to say should completely count as it is rather a large portion of the multiplayer game. Much like CoD Black Ops Zombies, which has 2 modes, and isn't on the list either btw.

Why wouldn't game modes count? You say the complaint is that devs are shoving zombies into everything but want a list that excludes exactly that. Nice. And like I stated, in many cases there's no reason not to include it. Zombies were a large aspect of CoD WaW/BlOps, Red Dead expansion etc.

Necromorphs are zombies, duh.

Why don't you go through and hand pick only the games you deem valid? Just don't forget if you want to do that you can't count "RE series" as 1 game but as all the individual games since 05, same with Dead Rising and Left 4 Dead etc.

Finally, calm down man. You're getting upset about an opinion that while you clearly don't agree with, is in no way invalid.

I'll be all over that as soon as it comes out for the PC. Sounds exactly like what I was thinking of. But again, I hope they don't involve things like stat-building--unless it's something like working out to increase strength/stamina--or obvious questing. I just want a game where I'm thrown into the zombie apocalypse with dozens of other strangers and told to make do with what's lying around me.

Just LOVE Walking Dead, I havel all 13 trades here.
I must, embarresdly say, that I saw a trailer for the Walking Dead tv show, and saw that... the lead actor didn't even look like the guy from the comic.
I then quickly decided it was probably not true to the source material and ignored it.
But I hear a lot of good things about it, so I'm going to look for some reruns.

A game based on the comics would be awesome though. Maybe a sandbox in a city like Atlanta where the comic started, just raiding stores with a character like Glenn, find a gunstore after a while, but not having the skills to break in yet or something. Absolutely epic.

Maybe have the prison within (fast-)travel distance too.
