Yeah, I was working off (less) sleep depravation when I wrote that too. If I came across as a pedantic a------, I appolgize. It's remarkably obscure information for anyone under the age of (I guess) about 35 though, so the intent was education, not nitpicking.lax4life said:There you go. But here's the thing; people go there to buy things cheap that were manufactured in some third world country, and the employees there know it's going to be a minimum wage job and that people are going to treat them like shit. But hey, they need the money. If that doesn't fit your persona, then just don't go there.

Walmart's one of those places that you start working there, and then they OWN YOUR ASS. My brother's girlfriend's lucky she's insane and has no problem firing people. She's management now. =Dirishdelinquent said:Am I the only one who doesn't understand Wal-Mart hatred? I don't understand why a single store has so much animosity directed towards it. Yes, there is evidence of them mistreating their employees, but that's not what seems to be the issue.
Also, Wal-Mart being out of stock of certain items, especially high-selling ones like Modern Warfare 2, is no reason to hate them...Best Buy was arbuably just as likely to have been sold out of it.
Oh well, I'm a Canadian...anything that gets us out of the frigid cold ca't be too bad![]()
It's ok. I knew what you were trying to get across but it seems I had trouble getting that across myself.Starke said:Yeah, I was working off (less) sleep depravation when I wrote that too. I had a similar thing happen to me in a staples (it`s an office store in canada, they also sell computers and some video games. Once again I don`t know where everyone here lives so explaining helps) anyways, I was killing time looking at computers before I had to go to work. A couple feet away from me was a salesman talking to a couple of customers about a computer, he really didn`t know what he was talking about, after he leaves they stand around for a few minutes and then ask me as I was still lingering, I really need a new monitor but can`t justify paying for one. Anyways as I was explaining the difference between 64-bit and 32-bit and a few other minor things, graphics and such. They knew a surprising amount but were simply questioning whether they could play certain games. Before I could finish (I recommended a much cheaper system than the salesman) I was asked to leave, by the same salesman. Haven`t been back since.pimppeter2 said:I was once kicked out of a Walmart for helping a customer. No joke.
This foreigner comes up to me and asks me about the PS3 (He thought I worked there), a gift he wanted to get for his son for his birthday. He told me he didn't have much cash, but his son really wanted it.
I procceded to tell him about the inevitable Price drop. (The $299 one) and told him to just wait a little bit. He wasn't sure, since it would be after his sons birth day, so I even called his son and explained to him. Then this ***** came up to be and yelled at me. Needless to say, I never went back
You must have actual "space" to put more useful/pleasing things don't you?Furburt said:Thankfully, in Ireland we don't have Walmart. I am so fucking glad that monument to consumerism does not exist in my country.
