Wanted Director in Talks to Remake "Slavic Transformers"

You pretty much scored when you said it was spiderman.
SPOILERS - if you want to watch and enjoy the movie you should just skip this post altogether.
Watched the movie - the guy "spiderman" is low on cash, has a crush on a girl "mary jane" who is aproached by his richer friend "harry osborn", he gets an old car for his birthday which apparently was part of some secret project from back in the Soviet era to get a new energy source(read radioactive spider), so two scientist made a car which can fly by using that energy. So the guy goes to a flower delivery company to get cash (read wrestling gig) to date the girl and alienates his family, his father the moral "uncle ben" stops a mugger, so the mugger finds him and stabs him in the next alley to the main hero, when aproached by a woman saying there's a man bleeding nearby he ignores her because he's busy trying to earn more money and his father bleeds to death. This big bad corporation guy "green goblin" gave a lecture in their university on how being greedy and selfish is important in business and in life, sending the hero down the corrupted path, he secretly searching for that secret energy source to drill a hole in earth core under Moscow to get the unfathomable amount of diamonds underneath it apparently, the only problem being it would make the whole city collapse and kill over 10 million inhabitants (which he doesn't really care about). And then starts the whole conflict.

That actually seems pretty good; I'd watch it in a heartbeat. This definitely blows Michael Bay's work out of the water. And chances are good that none of my friends have seen it, so I could spread the love of Eastern European action movies about flying cars.
On a side note, that's probably the first time that that last sentence has ever been communicated in the history of the English language.

P.S. That "Slavic Transformers" part of the title is really, REALLY misleading. I know it's somewhat relevant to the article, but couldn't you change it to something that makes sense in the context of the trailer?
Here's how you should "remake" it.
-Subtitle it
-Release it in America
To be honest, there IS a market for foreign language films in America, and I think that if they did some experiments they would find the market is larger than they think. Heck, it could be the start of a trend (importing successful foreign films could fill up chunks of the year where all that's out is Smurfs: Reloaded and other such garbage.)

But... it's out. It's been out for a long, long time. Why create an English version now?

Actually, that looks like it will be a much better film if it is just subbed, I feel the dubbing team would wreck it... like oh so many dubbing teams do.Logan Westbrook said:

I just hope they will subtitle it in English then, not dub the whole thing. There is nothing on this planet worse than a dubbed movie.

I personally found the graphic novel more entertaining, its nothing like the film. So much so I wondered why they even bothered saying 'based on the graphic novel' in the trailers/posters etc. The novel is waaaaaaaay more baddass.
You know, there was a Herbie film released a few years ago with new actors and crap like that with pretty much the exact same plot. Though not with out adding some Spiderman into the mix.
