Orphen Scion of Sorcery, one of the first games I bought for my PS2. Yeah, a pretty lame action game, even by the standards back then.

Did anyone ever beat it and if so, HOW? I remember beating all the storylines just fine, but having an impossible time with the final boss. Now I grant you, there much more worthy games to worry about, but goddamn, it's the one game I look back on go WTF.

So, what game(s) have you looking back, a little teary eyed perhaps, and wanting a little closure?

Consider yourself lucky: I beat Shenmue II in its entirety and still haven't gotten closure out of the series.

The Legend Of Dragoon for PS1. It was a four disk game, made it to disk 3 then said "Screw this game, I bought it in 2000, it's now 2002 and I played this game as much as possible." All I want to know is does Dart die... because he should.

Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance. The first ends with a cliffhanger. It took me years to find 2 and it ended with a cliffhanger. And then the company went under so 3 will never come.

Turok. I will not be bested by that damned game.

Not the old 64/gamecube version, the newer, less awesome, version.

Granny's Garden and Crystal Rainforest. Wondering how those games we were made to play in primary school (but never got chance to finish) sometimes keeps me awake at night.

Dreamfall: The Longest Journey was the middle part of a planned trilogy. It ended kind of Empire Strikes Back-ish, one main character is presumed dead while the other is Han Solo-ed more or less. The developers were then going to do the third part as a series of episodes, but then that got thrown out the window as well.

So yeah, what compounds this is the fact that Dreamfall: TLJ was a complete tearjerker. It had really endearing characters that you sympathized with and rooted for, and then it left you with them afloat at sea, metaphorically.

Damn Beyond Good and Evil. Ended wide open for a sequel, basically going "Oh, and then there's that... but we'll discuss that later." They keep teasing about a sequel but never release any facts. Hell, I love the game, but if it's dead, call it dead. I don't want to see this go all Duke Nukem.

Also, Dreamfall the Longest Journey, aswell. Same goes for it, only I don't think I've seen as much, if any teaser footage for that.

Alright, this is going to date me, but Ecco the Dolphin: Seas of Time (I think that was the name, anyway). I picked up at a fairly young game, because I don't think anyone expects a game with a dolphin protagonist to be frustratingly difficult. And yet...it was. All I remember from that game is getting to one level where you're swimming in a tunnel up through the sky, and you encounter a giant jellyfish. Every single time the jellyfish would toss me out into the sky and I'd fall to my death. The manual said something about there being shapeshifts in this game, but not how to get them. I was convinced if I could just turn into a seagull or something, I'd beat this level. But I never figured it out, and eventually we replaced the console and thus I never beat Ecco. Nowadays I abandon games pretty quick if they don't keep me interested, but that was the only game I wanted to beat and never figured out how.

Still waiting to find out why the Locust Horde has a human queen and what Fenix's dad has to do with the whole thing.... and why they attacked the humans in the first place.

Does this count?
