Ragnar stopped short when Solaris threw herself in his way, glaring down and momentarily contemplating whether to just sweep her aside with his chainsword. He stayed his hand. While there was clearly something very wrong with Solaris, she was a curiosity that he did not fully understand yet. An older Space Wolf might have known exactly what to do, but Ragnar was not so sure yet. On top of this, her movement to protect the other creature sparked a jolt of emotion in him, a queer mix of respect, annoyance, and even a little pride. Whatever else she might have been, whatever else the winged woman was, Solaris was a small and fragile person standing against the terrifying might of a Space Marine. To Ragnar's Fenrisian sensibilities, that was worth backing down, at least for the moment.
"I did not attack her, I simply asked her to tell me what she was." He replied, still watching Carmen. When her wings suddenly vanished he flinched and took a half step forward.
"What sorcery is that? It concerns me because you look and smell exactly like some daemonborn heretic!" He growled, his empty left hand clenching into a fist. "Those extra appendages are not natural, and not a part of any being loved by the Emperor!" Though he heard the man at the door speak, he was now completely focused on Carmen, and did not turn away.
