As the second chimera came for her, Nanami couldn't get her footing in the right position to properly strike the chimera, instead opting to bring her spear to buffer the impact. She brought it horizontal as the beast charged, bringing it just in front of the monster's maw, a maneuver that she had done many times in the past. She however was missing one critical aspect that made this technique more potent, Rook. Without his stopping power, she was still pushed back by the chimera, still managing to stay standing, but only just. The chimera however was pushing her closer to the water still.

Solaris thought for a few more moments, before shrugging to herself. "Well. All this speculation is getting us nowhere. I suppose I'll just have to go around asking people about this and see how they respond..." Blowing a sigh, Solaris walked over to the mirror, and put on a morose expression, even though her eyes remained looking somewhat calculative. "But first, I'll need to speak to my ally. By now, I'll have overcome the shock of killing a person, so it's time to appolagize." She said as she looked herself over. "What do you think? Does this look sad enough?"

Biting down on the handle of the spear, the chimera growled as it locked eyes with Nanami, pulling on the handle of the spear as it did, attempting to yank it out of her grasp. Now in attacking range, the third chimera leapt towards Nanami, attempting to throw and pin her down. The second chimera began limping forward, aiming to get between Nanami and the water. It moved rather slowly, as it held up its wounded paw.

The chimera would find that Nanami's grip was not to be underestimated, as she was pulled forward by the beast, away from the third attacker. As she was pulled back, Nanami let go with one hand. Using the momentum generated from the pull she thrusted an open palmed strike right to the chimera's nose.

After the impact, if the chimera did let go, she would turn her attention over to the third chimera.

Pix shook her head and two strand of goo shot up before forming arrows pointing at her eyes. [color=80bb00] "Pretty sure humans say the eyes are the window to the soul. And your soul is saying something other than 'regret for killing the only partner you have', which is bad. You wanna make this as convincing as possible, right?" [/color] Pix said as she retracted her appendages and hummed for a sec before smiling. [color=80bb00] "...You may wanna try putting on some waterworks in front of her as you apologize. Otherwise, you're in business." [/color]

Kenna made her way into the lounge, sitting at the bar and stretching while looking for a quick drink.

 

[Chungus]

"Hmm... Emulating sadness has never been a paticular strong suit of mine..." Solaris responded a moment after Pix had pointed out the flaw in Solaris' ruse. She closed her eyes for a moment, and began thinking about things that made her sad. Once she opened her eyes again, Solaris looked noticeably more morose, with nothing but subtle movements in the smaller muscles of her face to indicate it was an act. "Crying on cue, I can do however... Oh, and could you get the blood off my hands?"

With Nanami being yanked out of its path, the third chimera landed behind Namami, close to the first. The two being spreading out, cutting Nanami off from her route to the water, and largely surrounding her.

Nanami's palm thrust connected soundly to the second chimera's nose, making it utter a squeeling noise as it released its grip on the spear, and staggered back. When Nanami focused her atention to the third chimera, it swing at Nanami's shins with its right claw, while the second chimera hopped forward, and attempted to bite down on her left arm.

[color=915f6d]"Watch out, Mister Knight!"[/color] Selim exclaimed worriedly.

Pix chuckled and nodded. [color=80bb00] "You're set, you're set~! And of course...." [/color] The goo flowed onto Solaris' arm and eventually that entire section turned from lime green to red and Pix's form increased in size a small amount before the section returned to its normal color and it flowed back to its normal state, the blood completely gone from Solaris' hand.

As Kenna walked, Ness looked up from where she was sitting and gave her a small wave. She had a light beer to her side as she seemed to be reading something.

Kenna turned to Ness and returned the wave. "Heya. You alright?"

 

[Chungus]

Solaris watched curiously as Pix's goo absorbed the blood, not having noticed it when Pix drank Ness' blood, having been to enthralled then. When the blood was gone, Solaris turned her hands around twice, looking to either side of them, before lowering her arms. "Did your mass just increase?" She questioned, raising an eyebrow.

Nanami would have been able to swing the claws away with her spear like she'd done before, deflecting the pounce with brute force. She couldn't get out of the way in time before the other chimera managed to chomp down on her arm.

Her armour would be able to take some of the bite, but with the amount of pressure present, it still won't fully protect her. She screamed out as the fangs dug into her.

The chimera might have been quite proud of itself, finally catching its elusive mark, but then, why was there this feeling that it had made a mistake. Nanami's screams weren't as loud anymore, if anything she was a bit still, unnervingly tranquil. Within a matter of seconds, this feeling was answered as its mouth became ice cold, like the worst brain freeze/nerve flare it could imagine.

Nanami had flash frozen the saliva of the chimera, forcing it to either choose to let her go, or let it get colder.

Ness let out a small chuckle and rubbed her chest a bit. [color=666666] "...Well, as alright as I can be." ...This still stings... and I don't understand why... "How about you...?" [/color] She took a small swig of her beer and placed it down, letting out a small sigh as she did.

Pix chuckled and nodded, her face popping out in the side of the armor. [color=80bb00] "Yeah, absorbing liquids lets me grow in size, it helps when part of me suddenly gets burned or frozen off." [/color]

Kenna noticed Ness putting her hand to her chest, but didn't comment on it. "I'm fine, thanks." She grabbed a glass of water, then left the bar, moving to a chair opposite Ness.

Ness sighed a small bit as she put her book to the side and crossed her arms, using them as a headrest as she laid her chin down on them. Looking up to Kenna as she sat down, she blinked a bit before tilting her head. [color=666666] "...We've met before, haven't we?" [/color]

Kenna thought for a moment. "Sorry, but I don't think so."

Ness blinked a bit before sighing and cracking a small smile in response, extending a hand toward the woman. [color=666666] "Well, let's fix that then, shall we? My name's Vanessa. What's yours?" [/color]

Kenna reached out, shaking Ness' hand. "I'm Kenna. Nice to meet you."

Ness smiled warmly and took another small swig of her drink after finishing shaking Kenna's hand. She slowly look back up to the woman, looking her appearance over lightly before looking back to her face. [color=666666] "So what were you doing.... before this whole kidnapping thing happened to you?" [/color] She asked, only her eyes showing as she sunk her head lower into her arm cushion.

"I was trying to find someone." Kenna said after a brief silence, having some of her own drink. "You?"

Pat sighed a bit and walked around the bar and started rummaging for a drink.

[color=666666] "Hmm.... I was doing a bit of research with a... close friend of mine." [/color] Ness said, sighing a bit as she finished. [color=666666] "We hadn't made much progress, but we had at least gotten somewhere..." [/color] She raised an eyebrow as she looked back to Kenna. [color=666666] "Who was it that you were looking for? ...If you don't mind my asking." [/color] She said, looking a small bit apologetic as she said the second bit of what she said.
