Gold smiled when he saw Carmen and settled in next to her and Greed. "And I haven't seen you around here, so I guess we're even. Name's Gold." he then settled into the seat and began drinking from his canteen.

Carmen just nodded toward Greed before taking another swig, not wanting to get in the way of introductions.

 

[Chungus]

"Name's Greed." Greed answer as he walked out from behind the bar counter. "Two questions, how long've you been here, and do either of you know that guy over there?" he asked as he walked, directing the first question to Gold, and the second to no one in paticular, pointing over towards the sleeping Rex.

"Shit, its been about a month at this point I think. Maybe a month and a half. Honestly, don't keep too much track of the time here." he glanced over at Rex, and sighed. "he's a friend of mine. Here, let me wake him up." Gold walked over to Rex, glanced over him twice, and removed his left hand with his right. He held it over his head, about to rap Rex on the head with his hand.

Carmen looked over blankly before nodding. [color=bb0066] "Yes, I know him. In fact, he used to be my pupil for a period of time." [/color] She glanced over at Gold blankly.

Rex subconsciously punched out toward Gold's chest as the man had his hand raised.

 

[Chungus]

"A month, and no winner has been declared? I wonder how long whoever runs the show here plans on keeping this thing going." Greed remarked in responce to Gold's answer as he sat down. He raised an eyebrow at Gold removing his hand, but didn't think much on it, instead looking to Carmen. "Your pupil? Didn't think you were the teaching type."

Gold sucked in his stomach and shifted back, avoiding the punch. he then swung out and rapped Rex on his arm.

Carmen smirked a bit. [color=bb0066] "I'm not really. I promised to train him and I did so by beating his ass repeatedly. He was able to pick up a few things while we fought again and again, as I expected. " [/color]

Rex blinked a bit as the arm hit him before sitting up and rubbing his eyes. [color=000066] "....eh...?" [/color]

Gold smiled, slipping his left arm back into its socket. "Morning sleepyhead! Some guy named Greed wants to ask you questions about something or other." he pointed to Greed, sitting next to Carmen, and said "I think he want's to overthrow our oppressive rulers or something. Maybe try and 'get answers to why we're locked in here'."

 

[Chungus]

Wierd way to wake someone up. Greed thought as he saw Gold smacking Rex with the detatched hand in his peripheral vision. "Huh... Would I be right in thinking you rather liked 'beating his ass repeatedly'?" he asked Carmen. Hearing Gold's remarked towards Rex, Greed looked over his shoulder towards Rex. "Not really. I just wanted to know why you're sleeping here on a couch."

Carmen's smirk increased slightly. [color=bb0066] "Very much, so." [/color] Turning to Gold, she shook her head. [color=bb0066] "I'd wait until I obtain my prize before tearing this place inside out. Wouldn't you?" [/color]

Rex sat up on the couch and shrugged. [color=000066] "Got to lazy to go to my suite so I just dozed off here. Now then..." [/color] he flops back onto the couch and falls asleep.

"Oh." Gold said at Greed's explanation, before hopping back into his seat and sipping on his canteen. "Is there a prize? I thought living in a nice apartment with free board was prize enough for me and my team." he said to Carmen.

 

[Chungus]

Jeez... He's as bad as Sloth. Greed thought as he heard Rex's answer, followed by him falling asleep once more. He shook his head slightly and went back to looking infront of him, taking a sip from the glass, then smiling slightly at the mention of the prize, knowing what the prize was, but choosing to keep that bit of information to himself. "Yeah. Thought so." He said to Carmen.

Carmen smirked toward Gold. [color=bb0066] "Yes, I heard the announcement after that draw. ...As nice as this place is, it's not nearly enough in payment for extracting me randomly from what I was doing." [/color]

She simply shrugged and chuckled to herself as Rex flopped back on the couch. [color=bb0066] "He was always a hopeless case." [/color]

 

[Chungus]

After drinking the water, Greed placed down his glass and said, "You know, I've been wondering. Are we pitted against eachother by whoever's running the show, or are we just expected to pick our own opponents?"

Gold frowned slightly. "I can't fault you for wanting to go back home. If it wasn't for what I left, I'd be right there with ya... But if all I have to concern myself with is making sure my fight was interesting, its a better deal then home. Maybe my tune will change in another month or so." he smiled at Carmen. "But until then, I'm fine with enjoying my more unusual company."

Carmen shook her head toward Greed. [color=bb0066] "Usually, one simply walks out into the arena or challenges someone and others fight the one who issued the challenge. It's odd but the system works." [/color]

She simply shrugged toward Gold. [color=bb0066] "What I left wasn't exactly pretty, but I got myself into it willingly and I'd like to get back to it as soon as possible. ...Though drinking around with you all is nice, compared to my normal company." [/color]

"Wierd... That doesn't work like any tournament I've ever heard of." Greed remarked in reponce to Carmen's question. "Anyway. I have more stuff here then I do back home, so I'm perfectly fine with being here. A large suite, with a safe worth of stuff and a bar with a supple of drink that never seems to run out. And all that's asked in return is that I beat up some people from time to time. That's a pretty sweet deal if ya ask me."

Gold sat there for a moment, before breaking into a nervous grin. "well then, lets just enjoy each others company until we part ways, shall we?"
