Phonis held himself back from letting out a relieved sigh when Carmen placed him back on his own two feet, not wanting to seem rude. He took several steps back so he wouldn't have to crane his neck up so much at Carmen to look her in the face as they spoke. "That's okay, kupo. I can understand it might be a little hard to wrap ones head around." He placed a hand on his chin and tilted his head back and forth as he thought of how to best answer Carmen's question. "It's more the first part, kupo. A Moogle has to train as an Animist before they're allowed to train as Moogle Knights. There's really nothing like a royal court or anything at Goug. We Moogles built the city so we'd have a place where we could build all sorts of nifty inventions on our own, kupo!" Taking notice of the fight going on between Rex and Kenzo in the arena, Phonis began keeping an eye on the screens showing the fight.
Kenzo put his sword in front of him and it seemed to neutralize the electricity. Kenzo was a fair distance away from Rex, but made a horizontal slash anyway. Rex would see a large wind blade coming toward him.
Rex ducked down under the wind blade once he saw it appear. Sighing a small bit, he stared to move forward, electricity still arcing around him.

Carmen couldn't help but smile at the little Moogle tilting its head back and forth. [color=bb0066] Oh my, he's so cuuuute~! I wish I could take him home. [/color] She held back a squee before crouching down to talk with the moogle at more of a face level. [color=bb0066] "Ah, so I'm to assume that an Animist is some sort of tinkerer or alchemist that builds things them?" [/color]

The kobold was finally done setting up traps, the traps weren't exactly the best traps due to what little he had to work with but they were traps nonetheless. The kobold went to the lobby and was trying to scrounge up something to eat "There better be rabbit here. Or else this Kobold is going to eat talking rabbit tonight"
Phonis had a look of appreciation on his face as Carmen knelt down, seeming like he considered it a sign of respect. He shook his head at Carmen, his pom-pom bouncing around as it usually did. "Not at all, kupo. Animists are Moogles who use the power of music to communicate with animals and ask for their aid. Moogles who want to become Fusiliers or Knights need to train as one for a while. Its supposed to teach you what its like to have to rely on someone else to protect you, kupo. That way, those who protect our society know how big their responsibility is, kupo." Hearing the kobold walk in and start complaining about food, he groaned and glared at the creature for a moment.
Rex continued to strafe away from the slashes, drawing closer and closer to the samurai. He was still out of range, but didn't seem to care about not being able to throw out a punch yet.

Carmen smiled a bit in response to Phonis' change in expression. Her face twisted slightly as she seemed to be struggling with keeping her hands to herself as the pom-pom bounced around. Her tail started moving widly back and forth as she listened. [color=bb0066] "They use music...? Ah, I actually have something similar in my world...though most users of sound tend to simply use their music to cause people's statuses to change rather quickly." [/color]
She tilted her head a bit. [color=bb0066] "Ah... So I see that your community must be somewhat tightly-knit if one of the main pillars of your training is depending on others." But what do you do when you're alone? [/color]

Kenzo continued his assault, his slashed becoming faster and faster, making more blades Rex had to doge. He also varied the direction of his slashes to make them harder to doge.
The kobold seemed to be searching through the place very messily before he found some beef. "... Kobold has heard legends about this beef thing, Kobolds say it taste much better than rabbit" He said ripping out some wood from the place and trying to light a fire in the place with two rocks
Rex kept hopping to the sides, but brought up his gauntlet to block more of the slashes as he continued to get closer. Eventually, he got close enough that he took a slash to the arm and swung a charged up left at Kenzo's gut. Rex's lightning was beginning to change to a red color and the punch would carry the force of a speeding van.
Again Rex's punch would be stopped by Ishi. Kenzo moved around Ishi and slashed at Rex. Even if the actual sword didn't connect, the wind blade might.
As he used his left hand again to punch the wall, more black blood was spilled. Rex held out his gauntlet hand and caught Kenzo's blade, allowing the wind portion of it to cut him pretty deeply. Rex then roared as he let out another roar and sent out a massive charge of red electricity coursing around him, the stone wall, Kenzo and his blade.

Kenzo's blade and Ishi seemed to absorb the majority of Rex's electricity. Ishi disappeared at this point and Kenzo was panting. This did not stop him from drawing his wakizashi (small knife) and stabbing at where he thought Rex's chest would be.
Rex was still holding Kenzo's katana with his hand, which allowed him to grab Kenzo's other blade with his mangled left hand. It barely gripped, but it held as Rex reared back and then went in for a hard headbutt straight toward Kenzo's face.
Kenzo tried to reposition his knife to put it in the way of Rex's face, testing his own considerable strength against Rex's.
The attack struck and left Kenzo dazed and bleeding, though he continued to struggle against Rex's grip.
