"Oh. Now that's simply wonderful... In both accounts." Solaris commented with a grunt. She considdered the posibility of a stalker, and grunted at the idea that it might well be the case. "Well, if this is a total loss, then I gue--"

Solaris was cut off when Selim ran through the hallways with his eyes barely opened, and bumped into her. While Solaris only stumbled back by a step, Selim ended up falling on his behind. Holding his head to the side, Selim coughed and retched, seeming to fight back the need to vomit.

Ness blinked a bit as Selim suddenly appeared and ended up bumping into Solaris. Seeing the small child bump onto the floor, she momentarily forgot about the door as she walked over and bent down, looking concerned as she noticed him about to vomit. [color=666666] "Um... Are you alright? Do you need to lie down somewhere, little guy?" [/color] She asked, looking the boy over a small bit.

Seeing Ness move over to the distressed Selim, Solaris decided to give the two some room, taking a few steps back, and wrapping her arms around her waist while looking down to Selim with a feigned concerned look.

Selim didn't respond to Ness as he continued gagging, holding a hand infront of his mouth. Eventually, through drawing heavy breaths, he slowly settled down, but continued to breathe heavily. His entire body shook, with the hands doing so mostly, and after the danger of vomiting passed, his eyes were wide open and distant, as if his mind was somewhere else entirely.

"It looks like he saw something no child should see..." Solaris commented with a soft voice as she looked on.

Seras finally decided to get out of the hallway and entered a random room. She found herself in Kenna's room.

Kenna, still resting on her sofa and half-catatonic, didn't really notice Seras as she stumbled in.

Seras flopped down on the same sofa as she placed her head in her hands.

Kenna suddenly woke up and jumped up as Seras flopped down next to her, pushing the vamp off the sofa and jumping behind it. "can't you just leave me alone?!"

Seras shrieked as Kenna was suddenly looking at her in the same room, thinking she was some kind of ghost or something.

Kenna pointed at the door, arm shifting into a claw. "Out. Now."

Seras scurried out of the room. "I'm...sorry..." she said as she left.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"Maybe next time you shouldn't try and rip my damn throat out, huh?" Kenna said loudly and harshly, her eyes shifting into wolf mode as she watched Seras move down the corridor.

Seras continued to move away.

Kenna watched Seras move down the corridor, but her eyes and arm slowly turned back human as she saw the vampire go, and her angry glare was replaced by fear and pity.

Ness blinked a small bit as she noticed the little boy continuing to shake and sputter. Her instincts immediately wanted her to give the boy a hug, tell him things were going to be alright, that he wouldn't need to see the scary things anymore.

[color=ff4599] ...Hehe, if that wasn't a load of total shit! I'm surprised the brat hasn't just snapped and gone gun-happy already! [/color]

However, for multiple reasons, the most prominent being her AI's jeers, the woman's arms simply hovered as she reached out her arms and eventually then went back to her sides. She paused for another few moments before she simply waved her hand in front of his face. [color=666666] "Hey... Please talk with me, little guy... Can you tell me why you're so shaken up...?" [/color] She asked, speaking in as soft and calming voice. She sounded surprisingly like a mother, as if she had done this sort of thing before.

When Ness waved her hand infront of his face, Selim blinked pronouncedly twice, and turned his head to look to Ness. He opened his mouth, but it took a moment before sound came out. [color=915f6d]"T-t-the little people inside that box..."[/color] He began, speaking with a low and shaky voice. [color=915f6d]"T-they were... doing bad things... hurting eachother r-really bad."[/color] He finallly said. As Selim spoke, his black eyes continued to look rather distant, seeming to replay the scene he saw.

Noting Ness went to hug Selim, but then stopped, while Ness' tone of voice, and from it denoted she cared Solaris tilted her head and looked curious for a moment, wondering what caused the hesitation and eventual change of action.

[color=666666] "R-Right..." [/color] Ness said, looking down to the ground for a moment before looking back up to Selim. [color=666666] "This place... isn't a nice place to be. There are mean people... really mean people who are bringing people like you and I here and forcing us to fight like what you just saw. While they're doing those sorts of things, they show it to lots of other mean people." [/color] She said, looking to Selim as she looked at his face to see if he was paying attention. [color=666666] "I and a few others are working to try and stop those people so no one else here has to fight. So, can you promise me you won't look at the people in the boxes as long as we're all here? I don't want you to see things like what you saw again..." [/color]

Looking to Selim's face, Ness found he appeared to only pay attention to an extend, largely remaining in his own world. He did appear to calm down, however, as his breathing became more steady, and his body slowly but surely stopped trembling. When Ness asked her question, Selim was question for a moment while tapping on his knees with his index fingers, before looking back up to Ness, giving her a small nod. [color=915f6d]"Y-yeah... I'm not going to look at the box again... I don't want to see it either..."[/color] He responded, then looked down to the ground again. [color=915f6d]"B-but... why were they doing t-that...? It was...it was horrible... Why would anyone want to do that?"[/color]

Ness paused for a moment and shook her head. [color=666666] "...I honestly not sure..." [/color] She let out a small sigh. [color=666666] "When I was taken here, the announcer told me about getting a single wish if you manage to 'win' here. I think they may have let that cause them to get so... violent." I'd hope that was why, at least... [/color]

Seeing Selim nod, Ness smiled warmly. [color=666666] "Good to hear. I don't think we've met, though." [/color] She crouched down and extended a hand toward him. [color=666666] "My name's Vanessa. What's yours?" [/color]

[color=915f6d]"A-a wish...?"[/color] Selim questioned a little time after Ness responded, tilting his head slightly. He was quiet for a moment, after which a small smile appeared on his face. [color=915f6d]"That's silly... You can't just have your wishes granted, that only happens in stories."[/color]

When Ness extended her hand, Selim smile a little more brightly, having calmed down entirely by now. [color=915f6d]"O-oh."[/color] Standing up, he shook her hand with a flimsy grip to be expected from a child his age. [color=915f6d]"I'm Selim."[/color] He responded, pulling his hand back.

Seeing Selim had calmed down, and Ness introducing herself, Solaris stepped forward, and extended a hand after Selim shook Ness' hand. "I'm Solaris. Hello, Selim."

Selim's gaze drifted from Ness, to Solaris, although he didn't shake her hand, instead looking up to her with a mixture of curiousity, and mild disgust. [color=915f6d]"Ewww... What's that on you...?"[/color] He asked, extended pointing towards the Pix armour. [color=915f6d]"It looks like the biggest booger ever!"[/color]

Solaris rolled her eyes, and blew a small smile. "It's a suit of armour. I made it with alchemy." She responded, poking the breastplate.

Upon hearing this, Selim's eyes brightened with amazement. Clenching his fists and holding them closer to his mouth, selim began bombarding Solaris with questions.

Solaris, in turn, looked down to Selim with a blank expression on her face, and slowly turned her gaze to Ness. "Help...?"

Ness nodded a small bit as she shook his hand. [color=666666] "That's right, wishing for things won't make them happen. You've got to work at them until you make them come true yourself." [/color] She smiled a little more once she noticed that Selim had calmed down and was talking with Solaris.

Solaris would feel Pix vibrate a bit in anger once the word 'booger' was used. Ness failed to suppress to a chuckle at Selim's bluntness. Seeing Solaris look to her for help, she chuckled and scratched the back of her head a bit, tipping her hat as she did. [color=666666] "It does kind of look like a booger..." [/color]

Pix's vibrating would intensify a bit more, but stay rather unnoticeable. [color=666666] "...but Selim, you should slow down and ask one question at a time okay? She won't be able to answer everything you said at once." [/color] Looking to Selim, she slowly got up. [color=666666] Aw... he's so cute... [/color]
