Dollface mentally smacked her forehead, then turned on the spot to face Anjali, drawing her gun as she did so. It was a long pipe rifle with a heavy bore and a reflex sight. She dropped to one knee, took hurried aim at her opponent's legs, and fired.

 

[Silence]

Being very close to Doll, Anjali still attempted to hit Doll with her spear.

A moment after, however, she cried out in pain, as the bullet went through her lower leg, causing her to drop to her knees. No blood was visible, even though it was a clear shot through the leg.
Not having reason to give up yet, Anjali tried to grab Doll's hand, even though she was not in range.

Still, out of her hands the spirit of a snake seemed to appear. It went over and into Doll's hand, causing her to feel an intense, throbbing, pain, but causing no real damage.

Dollface was in the middle of a first pump when the snake bit her hand. She hefted her gun and used it as a crude club, smacking the snake, and by extension, the hand it was biting.

 

[Silence]

The snake was incorporeal, therefore it was not hit by the hit.
It did however go back inside Anjali after causing pain for about 30 seconds.

Anjali herself slowly got up again, with a pained look on her face. After stepping on it, she realized she could still walk on the leg. She then used the spear again to hit Doll, this time trying to hit the arm using the gun.

The spear connected, stabbing the arm. Dollface jerked back as the spear penetrated. It wasn't a crippling wound, but damn it hurt. She fired hastily, a wild bullet going in Anjali's general direction, more to scare than to wound.

 

[Silence]

The scare worked, as Anjali jumped back and to the side, yanking the spear out of Dollface's arm again.

She took a second to find herself again, shaking her head, then attempted another stab with the spear, this time at a part of Doll's chest which was not protected by metal.

Dollface had taken the second offered to her by the bullet to back off, so Anjali would find herself stabbing empty air. She ran off, into a narrow path in the scrap.

 

[Silence]

Anjali followed, not as fast as Doll due to the hole in her leg, but still running.

As soon as she saw Doll again, she tried to send out another ghost snake, which should go inside Doll's head and give her a headache for a time.

The snake caught her just before she turned a corner, and the migrane made her slow. Regardless, Dollface turned, bat in hand, ready to surprise her opponent with a bat to the face as soon as she turned the corner.

 

[Silence]

As she approached the corner, Anjali stopped going as fast, now walking and hoping not to run into a trap. She looked around, if she saw any dead bodies in the scrapyard.
If Doll was really fast, she would still be able to hit Anjali, otherwise Anjali would be able to dodge in the last second.

Dollface wasn't fast enough, and the extreme force of the swing got the bat stuck in a small crack in the bodyless walls. She tried to extract it, freeing it quickly but leaving herself open.

 

[Silence]

Seeing this, Anjali attempted another stab with her spear, targeted at the side of Dollface's torso.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

The spear didn't penetrate the metal, but it arguably did something worse, creating a dent in the plate that hurt Dollface's chest with every breath. She backed off, raising her bat for an overhead swing that came crashing down.

 

[Silence]

Anjali quickly backed off as well, to get out of range of the bat swing.
The snake went back to her, ceasing causing the headache.

Dollface drew her gun as the headache receded, backing away so she could get a better shot.

 

[Silence]

Seeing this, Anjali ran and backed off around another corner, so Dollface wouldn't have a clear shot.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

Dollface grunted in annoyance but didn't follow, holding her ground. "Come on, don't lame it out!" She called.

 

[Silence]

"Says the one waiting for me with a bat around a corner.
Seriously?" Anjali called back.
Out of sight, she walked back to the middle of the arena, to find her knife again.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"OK, Fair point!" Dollface called back, slowly turning the corner gun first to follow Anjali.

 

[Silence]

Walking back to the square, always looking behind her to not get surprised, Anjali finally saw the knife on the ground near the edge of the central square.
She ran there, then picked it up, and looked how much Dollface had caught up.
