According to the narrator in Fallout, war never changes. I beg to differ. How often do you think war changes. I happen to believe it changes every other Thursday. And yes, I expect humorous replies.

Well the means of waging war change with every generation and every advance in technology, but the basic concept of war always remains the same, so yeah "War, war never changes".

Ron Perlman: "War. War Never Changes."
Solid Snake: "War has changed.."
Me: "War Spelled Backwards is RAW.. pretty deep huh?" -(That joke is courtesy of Game Informer, I just answered it on the trivia)

War may never change, but you know what it's good for? Absolutely NOTHING! Say it again, ooooh, WAR! Huh! Yeah! What is it good for? Abso-- I'll stop now.

Do you WANT to argue with Ron Pearlman? The guy is HELLBOY!!! Arguing with him would not be clever. What he says goes.

War changes with new technology. The longbow made armor knight obsolete. Gunpowder gave war a whole new dimension. Aircraft changed the face of war and recon. The atomic bomb changed how we think about war (now war, instead of blowing up one particular group, can end all groups). War marches on and man invents new and more efficient ways to kill each other and satisfy one of the most primal urges (ironic isn't it?).

Also, "War, war never changes." That's why it's socks smell so bad, it never changes them. buh dum tush.

At it's roots war has and never will change.

Politicians send their underpriviliged young citizens to die for their cause. Doesn't matter when who or how many, that's what happens.

How wars are fought stayed pretty much the same until the 20th century, when automatice weapons and aircraft forced a much more mobile style of fighting and camouflage became paramount to the survival of any unit.
Then it changed again in the 50's and 60's when Guerilla style tactics proved their effectiveness against large, high tech forces. In the last 50 years wars haven't changed a great deal at all, large, high tech armies fight equally large, but heavily dispersed guerilla forces. When two 'proper' armies face off the conflict's usually very brief and one sided now, but a hundred times more destructive than 200years ago.
Ah well.

Every war there's a new way to kill people, so I'd say every war is slightly different.
